    We love, love, love Bogey's!

Located in the historic downtown area of Defuniak Springs, it's got a great, classy atmosphere, wonderful staff, and really fantastic food. It was one of the highlights of a cross-country trip we made, and one of the few places I could justify spending a little money on. Attire can be either dressy or casual, depending on what kind of evening you want to have.

The chicken marsala is extra good, from my own experience. Portions were big, and we had plenty of food. My husband took a gamble and ordered the grouper (he's always hesitant to order fish at a restaurant), and it was, he says, the best fish he's had in his life. I don't like fish, but I tried some of his, and I agree. If we lived closer, I might just flip to the dark side and become a fish-eater.

Our visit coincided with our anniversary, so we splurged and ordered dessert, too. Wow, was it good! That, and a bottle of wine, and it was one of the best special meals we'd ever had.

I would definitely recommend Bogey's. Survey says Two Thumbs Way Up!

We stayed at Hotel Defuniak and made reservations to eat while we were there. The service was okay. My crab cakes were way too sweet that it was inedible. They didn't taste fresh at all. My veggies were soggy and you could certainly tell that they were frozen. You would think with those prices that you'd get everything fresh. I've had better food at Outback.

My wife and I just spent our one-year anniversary at the Hotel Defuniak, whose package deal included a meal at Bogey's. I was very impressed. The atmosphere (once inside) is classy enough to mentally transport you straight out of Defuniak Springs.  The food is ambitious by this town's standards, and exceeded my expectations by far.  It was a fantastic dinner (much better and more fine-dining than you would get at Outback but definitely no Fleming's) and I would give it five stars if my asparagus hadn't tasted like watery green beans and had my brownie a la mode tasted better than a store-bought brownie mix and Breyers. The steak, salad, bread, and wine, however, were all fantastic, and I heartily recommend Bogey's to anyone finding themselves in the area with a hankering for above-average fine-dining steak. Four stars.

If you're up in Defuniak Springs, give Bogey's a try.  We went to see the Christmas Lights and as it is a long drive for us, decided to grab a meal nearby too.  There aren't too many places to eat in town that aren't big-name franchises.  Visit their website to see the menu and get an idea of what to expect.
