Previous Yelpers of this restaurant - What are you people, from Canada?!?! Are you AMISH?!?! Are you not allowed to show your true emotions in a review?!? I CAN NOT BELIEVE there aren't all amazing four and five star reviews for this place! Seriously shocked to see the reviews are not in line with my high opinion because I am a serious foodie girl with lots of dining experience (I have the waist to prove it) and this place ROCKS!

My friends and I came in from a long day of riding Quads in the area, somewhere between Mayberry and Deliverance.

We were muddy and hungry, and our friends said this place was THE place to go if you had a hankerin' for heapin' helpins' of good ole American chow. There were not a lot of people there, it was kinda empty. Maybe it's the location? It's a little ways away from the upscale Great Barrington places. We sat at the bar. The men ordered Shirley Temples and I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. (That's how I roll.) The Bartender was excited to get any drink order other than the usual beer however, she explained - Long Islands are ILLEGAL in Mass!!! Whaaaaaat? Interesting bit of info that we discussed with the very friendly bartender for quite a while.

We ordered Wings, Steak Quesadillas, Chicken Taco Salad, HAND-CUT fries, Nachos. Holy Nachos. They are piled SO HIGH you could feed a table of 6-8 people. HUGE and generous portions just made us keep saying, OMG! every time a plate was set before us. DELICIOUS, fresh, hot and perfectly prepared food.

I posted a bunch of photos, but let me tell you, this was one of those pubs you just wish everyone you knew was at so you could show them and feed them the food you ordered because describing it just doesn't do it justice. It just made us all so happy - the portions, the freshness, the fun of it all.

It was a great experience from the moment we sat down until we licked the last bit of dessert off our forks. Chocolate Polenta was my dessert - how can they make a polenta taste so sinful!?!? The cooks came out from the back to catch a bit of the Football Game on the big screen tv and I could have kissed 'em the food was so good.

I really feel like I found a hidden gem here. I can't understand why this place is not PACKED. If you love good American food - GO HERE. I heard they have a Thursday Night Steak Special that's awesome - hope to check that out. Maybe play a little Keno!

Looking forward to hitting Bogie's again next Sunday, if I'm not held up in a backwoods cabin squealin' like a pig.

The food here at Bogie's is not the worst I've ever had, but far from the best. It's really the service, atmosphere and crowd as to why I'm giving them 2 stars. In a pinch, it will do. But I definitely wouldn't recommend this place over other local restaurants.

I've eaten here twice. The first time I got a prime rib dinner which was pretty decent. I think it was just my BF and I in the dining room so service was quick.

The second time I came here I ordered the beef goulash or something like that. I don't remember the exact name of what I ordered but it literally looked like they emptied a can of alpo dog food in the plate and melted some cheese on top of it. Horrible... it looked reguritated.

The driving range in the back was nice, good way to kill some time

We had our hopes up to try out this great BBQ joint near Abby's parent's house in Great Barrington called Route 7 Grill. Sadly, it was 3:30 on a Saturday and it was between lunch and dinner so we were out of luck there. Down the street was Boggies, a bar that Abby used to frequent often in her younger years. On it's premise was a driving range, which I thought was pretty neat. Too bad the rest of the bar wasn't as neat. It was cheap, I'll give it that. But the food was medicore and the service was a little slow, especially since there was only us 4 and a group of people watching the World Cup. The driving range and the games in the back adds 1/2 a point and I give Boggies a 2 and 1/2 out of 5.

It's a 2-star place IMO, but I gave it 3 because the hubby likes it. When he and his race car buddies are coming home from Lime Rock, they appreciate Bogie's parking area, because they can maneuver their trailers into it. Hard to catch a bite to eat when you're hauling 4 race cars behind you.

Anyway, we stopped with the kids the other night and were the only patrons in the dining area. The bar was populated, but no one was eating. Not a great sign in my book.

Salad bar was nothing to write home about. Even 10-year-old looked around forlonly, asking "where are the carrots?" Burgers and fries were good. Steak looked like a thick pancake, but child eating it said it was fine. Scrod was OK. Baked potato was gray. Vegetables were surprisingly inspired. We didn't stay for dessert.
