I had a fairly large party of people in Bohns Restaurant, I usually have all my events there, not any more, they brought out the food before they served the coffee, and it was a total piece meal, we had dinners served but no drinks, I.e. few people had ordered steaks, they were told the potatoes were coming out soon about 8 min later. They were done eating there steaks, the coffee was served to just about everyone about 20 people, It was cold, it wasn't even warm I mean it was cold, I complained, my guests said they added hot water to the coffee, they must have added hot water to it because it tasted just like that. I was ashamed and uncomfortable, I thought of this place as the best, what a slap in the face. I had special guests and they got treated like that. There were some other things too. I complained after paying the bill and I was told, "they did a good job" "take your wealth some where else" I have not been back since.
Review Source:Where to begin . . . The decor is awful. Â It looks as though the restaurant hasn't been updated in 50 years. Â I ordered the fettucini alfredo and it was absolutely horrible. Â It was soupy and had no taste. Â NONE. Â It tasted like a noodle with some sort of sauce on it but you wouldn't be able to tell what it was because it was tasteless. Â Take the time to go elsewhere, even if it's a little longer ride to Rochester or Buffalo. Â The service was OK, but not great.
Review Source:Surprisingly good food. Â
I really didn't know what to expect when my family stopped here for dinner.  As the other reviews note, the decor (circa 1980s) and ambiance (there isn't any, really) leaves much to be desired.  I figured the food would follow suit and ordered something "safe" - roast beef a weck. How can you screw up a sandwich? My goodness - BOHN's delivered.  The sandwich was outstanding.  My husbands fish fry  - superb.  The chicken parm - fantastic.  Alfredo - good, too.
I was completely taken off guard. This is a diamond in the rough.
We attended Bohn's for my father 60th Birthday party on a Friday evening. We had a small room in the back. We all had a good time. Only a few things that I could point out to do better. First off my steak was not cooked right. I know that I am confusing to people that I order a Filet well done but at the same time you should know how to cook it correctly. Also, the server forgot a few things, and I was thirsty most of dinner.
Review Source:I was at Bohn's for an all day meeting recently. Â Six hours is a long time to spend in any place, let alone a smallish room so I will be charitable.
The room was okay. Â There's no other way to put it. Â The organization I was working with booked a much larger room and we got bumped. Â Not a big deal except that the room was not ideal for what we were attempting to accomplish.
Normally, during a meeting, I expect the wait staff to check in to make sure that everything was going well. Â They may have, but I did not notice it. Â
We ordered off the menu and, this being the first Friday of Lent, I dutifully ordered a fish fry with very low expectations. Â Luckily for me, my expectations were well exceeded. Â Yea! Â In addition, it seemed that everyone was pleased with their meal.
Would I make the trek from Buffalo to Batavia to dine at this establishment? Â Probably not. Â Would I gladly meet a friend for lunch or dinner here? Â You bet!
If I could give this restaurant less than one star, I would. I was here for a rehearsal dinner and no one in the room could eat their meal. The chicken had the consistency of cafeteria chicken nuggets, the "mushroom" sauce tasted like flour and water mixed together with a couple mushrooms thrown in, the vegetables were overcooked, and the potato was either instant or as old as the building itself. If this meal had been served to me in a hospital cafeteria I would've been disappointed.
In addition to the embarrassingly awful food, no one came out from the kitchen to ask why every plate was sent back nearly untouched. Stay far, far away from this place.
