    CLOSED?!? NOOOOO! :(
I was just planning a trip to the Scarborough Festival and was really looking forward to returning to this adorable speakeasy. I'm so bummed to hear that they closed and that the historic hotel above was turned into office space. I discovered this place two years ago when my friends and I drove through town out of curiosity. From Austin, we were heading to celebrate my bachelorette weekend in Dallas. I'm pleased to say that we were so charmed by Wax's main street area that we got out to snap photos and literally stumbled right into the door of this place! We were welcomed by the charming lady owner with open arms. She had just opened the week before and you could tell how proud she was and how hard they all had worked to attain that dream. She was thrilled to have ladies "all the way from Austin" show up to bring life to the party. She treated me like a queen with my court of princesses.

Altogether, the ambience was very authentic and lovingly remodeled. Being that it was a basement-type situation, I think they did an excellent job of making it feel romantic and not at all cramped or claustrophobic. They had excellent table service at swanky lounge areas and delicious appetizers that made us feel very decadent. The waitresses were all adorable in their Twenties cocktail outfits and very sweet and attentive. They had a jazz band that rivaled any Austin jazz band-- we had a killer time jitterbugging on their well-built dance floor late into the night. When the owner found out that we hadn't even booked a place to stay in the area, she gracefully arranged for us to stay at this random Christian youth retreat (weird I know, but oddly fit into our adventure) and with her family in the car with her, actually drove in front of us at 2:30AM to make sure that we made it to the camp ok...which was about 15 miles away!

Altogether, it was the best time I could have possibly had with my 7 bridesmaids and we will forever remember whimsically pulling off the highway as I exclaimed, "Let's go get our Hachie's Waxed!". ;) I hope that one day soon you re-open...in the meantime, I will sigh over the nostalgic heyday that they so briefly lived, and pour another glass of bubbly in the adorable champagne flumes they gracefully bestowed upon me. Thanks for your hospitality Waxahachie!

I came to this bar after it turned into "Underground Private Bar" from Bonnie and Clyde's. Never again. Hasn't changed. The girls in their hooter's outfits were awesome... The owner was a total jerk, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before. Good luck.

Sadly this place has closed... Due mostly to the building owner dropping in to foreclosure.  The owners of the club were victims of this slime bag of a property owner.  It's sad to see Waxahachie could not support this outstanding music venue and bar...  I hope the owners one day re-surface with a new establishment.
