I'm giving them an extra star for effort. When my sister and I ate there this morning we nearly passed out form the heat inside. According to their thermostat it was 86 . We got there just after the breakfast specials ended and apparently at the end of the buffet service. I would have picked the buffet but nearly every pan was empty or nearly empty. Waitress said they'd refill "what needed it" but I went ahead and ordered from the menu. The food is very truck stop style, down home feeling and greasy. I liked it fine but its tough to mess up breakfast. The yellow & black decor throughout was interesting. Even the ceiling tiles were yellow. The service was polite but the meals took longer than average to arrive. When we checked out, the cashier said, "do you want to add a tip?". I did, but it was pretty presumptuous to ask in my opinion.
Review Source:There aren't many places to dine out on this area and but actually glad that found this cafe for breakfast; otherwise we probably still looking...
I'm giving it three stars not because it was just OK; but because I guess it deserve to be recognized for the courage of opening a "restaurant" on this part of town.
It's a basic cafe, so everything here is simple, easy diner type fare. They also have a buffet table which I assume is open for lunch and/or dinner, not sure because only had breakfast.
Very friendly staff offering you the menu items like they knew it their whole life; i'm almost positive that this menu hasn't change much since they open...
I would say don't be afraid of their bright yellow color paint; and their newspaper wallpaper and give this people a chance!
It's kinda hard for me to rate this place because the people who work here are so genuinely nice and do care if you enjoy your food or not. That said I bumped them one star up for kindness, goes a long way.
It's in a polebarn, a large one at that, so gives you an idea. This is the first time for me in this setting. The interior is very understated and very mishmashed. There are a few separate rooms from the main one and the place doesnt really flow all that well. The bathroom has a trough for a sink and has a rest stop esque to it. There is a buffet which you can risk your life at or seat yourself and order from the varied menu. I have heard great things about their italian dishes but I nor the other guy went at 'em. I wasn't all that hungry, i.e. diet, so I grabbed a salad and he went for the chili. Mine was pretty large and overall tasty and he hated his.
2 colas - large salad - bowl of chili - came to 26 dollars.
It's Boonville - It's a Cafe in a polebarn, get into it. It is what it is.
