  We stopped at the Boonville Hotel for lunch after a morning of cross country skiing on the BREIA canal trail.  On entering we were warmly welcomed and offered the table in the bar in front of a cosy fireplace.  The homemade soups, greens & beans and cauliflower were delicious. We each had a sandwiches, chicken salad, tuna salad and grilled cheese.   On ordering we were offered choices of lettuce, tomato, onion...and could choose from various cheeses and breads including croissant.  The grilled cheddar with tomato and cauliflower soup was a great vegetarian choice.  My chicken salad had big chunks of chicken, just the right amount of celery and mayo and served on a fresh  croissant with lettuce and tomato it was perfect.   The lunch and dinner menus were extensive with lots of specials and plenty of burgers and beef for meat lovers.  It was a treat to walk in out of cold and snow to the warm of the wooden curving bar , gas fireplace, and comfy leather seating.  Service was excellent

  We have been coming to the woodsmen festival for 20 years and finally decided to finally give the Boonville Hotel a try. We were not disappointed.  The staff was very friendly, the dining room was very comfortable and the food was amazing. The complimentary corn bread was to die for.  The prime rib was cooked well and came with so many options for sides it was great.  The home style chicken and biscuits really hit the spot. The homemade soup came hot and delicious. I would definitely recommend this to anyone at the festival or just traveling up route 12.
