I personally thought that this place was pretty righteous. Â I didn't try the pizza, but the burger, sweet potato fries, and the giant grainbelt nordeaster were damned tasty.
The decor was nice, and there was an abundance of big screen TVs to reinforce the sports fan destination theme.
The service was fine, and the bill was fair. Â I would say that Boston's elevates the Fairbault dining scene.
I have tried this place 3-4 times. I have been dissapointed EVERY time. The food is usually cold or lacking flavor. It is always a small portion. I even complained to the manager and he started arguing with me over the weight of the lasagna and their serving size... how NOT to win friends.
My advice... skip this place and go to Basilleo's if you want pizza or the Depot if you want other types of food in Faribault.
I agree with the other reviewer. This place is disappointing.  I had the Diablo shrimp pasta  and my mother had the steak and broccoli. Â
First things first the "healthy hits" section of the menu only has 6 options which seemed a little lacking. None of these options is a salad which makes me wonder how many calories are in their salads. Anyways the food came and they put some strange sauce on my mom's steak which I tasted. If you cook a steak correctly, which they actually had, there is no need for steak sauce. Plus they did not mention the sauce in the description of the steak. After wiping the sauce off (and probably saving 100 calories) the steak tasted good.
My shrimp pasta meal did not taste good. The waitress did warn us that it was spicy. Now there is spicy and than there is peppery. This was more peppery than spicy and the sauce was so hum drum that I ate out the shrimp and broccoli and did not eat over half the pasta.
Overall I was disappointed with my experience and will not be returning.
This joynt is a disappointment for the most part. When it was being developed it was hyped to the community by our local paper as "the restaurant we have all been waiting for to come to town". It was also touted as a premier restaurant that would make Faribault a dinning destination. As you can imagine, it has not lived up to it's pre- development hype. The big joke at the time was; which restaurant have we all been waiting for? Applebee's? TGIF? BW3? Chile's? Hooters? Champs? Alright, Hooters is coming to town!
Nope, Boston's Gourmet Pizza, because when you think of pizza, you think of New York style, Brooklyn style, Chicago style and Boston style? When you say Boston cuisine, I think of baked beans, creme pie and pizza? Huh? Seafood yes, but pizza? Never.
I have dined here three times and each time it has been an expensive and underwhelming experience. The food is unremarkable and the wait service is slow. I tried it for lunch and it was a disaster. In the bar they had all of these beer signs, but none of the beer. Even on the menu they touted beers they didn't serve. It reminded me about the Monte Python cheese shop skit. Â So for a pizza and a salad with two beers, I had a lunch bill of about $60.00.
