Overpriced and disappointing.  Paid $11 for a small pizza, and it was mediocre, at best.  The chicken on my spinach salad was rubbery.  The delivery person managed to leave a giant hair in the bag and spilled honey mustard sauce all over the chicken tenders and fries I ordered.   TEN dollars worth of tenders and fries, I might add.

Any one can have a bad day, but there were so many things wrong, it can't be an aberration.  How do places this bad stay in business?  Steer clear.

Ordered Cactus Cuts as an appetizer, and they had a little heat to them.  These are potato chips with some cheese, scallions, bacon, tomatoes, and hot sauce.  Pretty yummy.  The chips in the middle do end up soggy, though.  Had the Phish tacos for dinner.  Very nice.  The service in the bar area is just so so, and the previous 2 times there, we had bad service.  This time no one greeted us for 5 minutes, but after she came by, it got better.  I actually left my bankcard in the check folder, and the server ran it out to me at my car.

They also have a nice patio, where bands set up and play during the weekend, and it joins up with the bar area, which is a good size.

The food was good but I thought it was overpriced.  Red robin has b
etter food and costs about 1/3 less.

We have been here a few times and always enjoy the food and drinks. We have always sat in the bar area. Most of the time we have attentive  servers, but when ordering drinks the bartender seems to take forever making them for our waiter (that is every time)

I had been here once before, but just ordered bar food and beer. Nothing to complain about but not that memorable. Cut to last Sunday. After an all night and day flying experience from LAX to JAX we had to wait 2 hours for our luggage. We went to River City Marketplace looking for a place to eat with outdoor seating.  Boston's was the place. From the moment we were greeted at the door we were already pleasantly surprised by the friendly service. Our server Cindy acknowledged us before we were even seated despite serving a party of about 20. Service was fast and the food was delicious.  Really!  It was fabulous. We got the Bistro Steak Flatbread?? And the Spicy Chicken and Broccoli Pasta??  Not sure of their names but the description should help. Also a foot note, the manager, Kelvin, checked on us at least 3 times during our meal.  It just shows how good management trickles down.

    9/27/11
Last Tuesday was my first time at Boston's, so I had no idea what to expect, until I arrived and found out their full name was Boston's The Gourmet Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar. It was exactly what your could imagine from a pizza sports bar.

Why don't we start at the beginning of this gluttonous night? In the large bar area they were serving drinks and appetizer flatbreads. Unfortunately I was too busy socializing with the other guests and missed out on the flatbread, but not the drinks. From what I could tell, everyone seemed to enjoy it.

After the drinks and apps at the bar, we were ushered into the dining room for the first course of three starters. Listed in the order of delightfulness: Bacon-wrapped steak skewers, southwest ravioli and Boston's nachos. I'm not a big fan of bacon-wrapped anything, but these were mouthwatering!

Next came the shared salads. Our table got a platter of Santa Fe salad with black beans, olives and my favorite, guacamole. Didn't get the chance to try the Mediterranean salad, but it looked tasty.

Third course PASTA...family style! Normally I'm not a big fan, but our first pasta dish was spicy chicken and broccoli alfredo, and it was amazing! The other two dishes (shrimp tortellini and jambalaya fettuccine) were ok, just not as good as the spicy chicken awesomeness.

Pizza course! We started with the spinach and artichoke...my lucky night! They called me the pizza bandit, because I kept steal slices from other tables. I got to try (steal) the tuscan, florentine, mama meata and barbeque chicken too.

Almost stuffed after all that, yes almost, then came dessert. A shot glass four-pack with strawberry cheesecake, warm apple, brownie and bread pudding inside. Everyone at our table snatched up a glass each and downed it. I was sure to grab the bread pudding and didn't regret it. Sugar high!

Overall the food was good especially served family style, just a little slow in between courses. Service was courtesy and helpful, but noticeably overwhelmed. In the end, the magician made smiles appear on the guests faces with a few tricks up his sleeves.

Thank you Bite Club, Caron Streibich and Boston's for a wonderful night out.

This a a solid bar/restaurant.  The food is average and the atmosphere is nice.  I have tried the pizza and salads and they were decent.  Nothing particularly spectacular but a good, average place to stop in for a meal.

A fan of $17 "Gourmet" plate of pasta that taste like cardboard?? If you are, and are craving for some then come here!! They serve those here.. Oh, and you'll feel the effects the next day too! Better off going to the grocery store and making your own pasta, guaranteed satisfaction! Bad service, bad food, bad everything!! Not a fan! I gave it a second chance, but they still don't have it! I'd say, don't even consider this establishment!

Their pastas are definitely not gourmet. Haven't had their pizza yet, and not sure that I want to try it. Service has always been decent.

I don't have the most sophisticated palette in the world (I like Pizza Hut on occasion, and I am a pretty big fan of Chili's...), and I am usually pretty forgiving of poor service.  However, the poor quality of the food and service combined at Boston's led to one of the worst meals that I have had in a long time.
We started out with their "queso" dip, which was a Velveeta and Rotel dip, for those of you that are familiar with that, paired with some housemade, nearly burnt, very chewy, flour tortilla chips.
The menu is extensive, with a lot of good sounding choices.  I decided to get a cheesesteak, which the menu said came with sauteed peppers, onions, and mushrooms, along with an au jus on the side.  When I ordered, I also asked for horseradish sauce, which the waitress snottily told me "It comes with that."  (I didn't argue the point that the menu didn't say that, but whatever.) My bf ordered the spicy chicken and broccoli alfredo.
When our food arrived, his bowl and my plate were both scorching hot.  After working in a restaurant in my teens, I know that this means (unless your plate was baked in the oven, which these were not) that your plates have been sitting in a window under a heat lamp.  Strike one.  My bf's pasta was a mushy, bland, not spicy AT ALL bowl of noodles that he took a few bites of and was done with.  My sandwich arrived with cold french fries, but surprisingly enough, had neither au jus nor horseradish sauce with it.  Our waitress took nearly 10 minutes to come back to our table to even check on us.  She finally returned with my au jus and horseradish, and I was able to try my sandwich. The peppers, onions, and mushrooms were all practically raw, and the beef was flavorless and overcooked.
This was my first and last time at Boston's.  I would advise that you stay away.

Since I have eaten here 3 times and had an awful experience each time, I think that I can safely say that this is the worst restaurant I have been to since I have lived in this area.  The food: terrible... the service: terrible... the atmosphere:  terrible.  If you like food even a little bit don't ever go to this place.  It almost makes me never want to eat again.  I hate... hate... hate it.  Please avoid this place at all costs.... I beg you.

Recently was at Boston's for a Folio Weekly Bite Club (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Ffolioweeklybiteclub&s=e76e91f8d0d72decaf83563c70b6be49f4c9cd33db41539b069bbd47d46b53de" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.facebook.com/…</a>) event and was pleasantly surprised, and even impressed! The restaurant is inviting, and spotless. The bar area has plenty of seating and a good number of beers on draft. I ordered a Guinness. The bartender was sweet as can be and promptly brought me my cold and delicious brew.

We sampled three of the flatbreads to start and each was packed with flavor, and the crust was crispy and delicious. Would definitely recommend one of these to start! Next up was the bacon-wrapped steak skewers with a blue cheese cream sauce. Crowd favorite -- the meat was tender and flavorful. Nachos were ehhh, but the toasted ravioli (loved the kick -- thanks jalapenos hiding inside!) with ranch were perfect. Enjoyed the mediterranean salad: the saltiness of kalamata olives and the crunchy crispness of the parmesan flatbread under the salad was a great pairing. The lemon vinaigrette dressing was sweet and complimented the other flavors nicely.

We sampled 6-7 of Boston's gourmet pizzas. They were decent. They also offen gluten-free and dairy-free options which is hard to come by. Again, I really enjoyed the flatbreads (MUCH better than Urban Flats in my opinion, among other places) and they're a lighter version of the pizzas.

The petite desserts were the perfect size. Our table gobbled up the warm apple one and bread pudding. Yum!

Would recommend Boston's over any other spot in this area -- it's fantastic before or after a flight as it's also near the airport.

I ate at Boston's a couple of years ago, and haven't been back until tonight.  I recalled it was nothing really special, and my visit tonight confirms that.

The building is divided into a sports bar side, and the restaurant side.  I picked the restaurant side for seating; it was a slow night, I guess, but I was managed to be seated right by the only soon-to-be-screaming child in the restaurant. (No, I didn't do anything to the kid, I think she just woke up.)

My spicy chicken and broccoli alfredo was delivered in good time, but the presentation was ... lacking.  Just penne pasta and the other ingredients in a bowl, with a breadstick on the side.  Not even a sprig of parsely.  A salad was available for an additional $2.49.

The service size was generous, and the flavor was pretty good, but there was nothing about it that screamed "special" -- almost like I pulled something out of my freezer and tossed it into a pot of boiling water.

The restaurant was clean, and bright, and aside from the noted noisy child, very quiet.  Service was good.  I doubt I'll be back anytime soon, if I want Italian-ish, Olive Garden is right next door.

    Food:  Good...but nothing special
Service:  I have to say...b/c of her I gave them the extra star...so service was good
Con:  The place smelled like my fraternity after we did Case Race and everyone yakked all over the house...yea...nasty!

Go for the chicken pesto parm sandwich...and bring some nose plugs for the bar area.

Went here with a friend for lunch and was disappointed from the moment we walked in. Disorganized, server took 15 mins had to get the manager. Food was very small portions and wasnt anything great.

Update: I wrote to the chain about my bad experience and they never responded or acknowledged.  BAD MANAGEMENT! Go somewhere else where they care about their patrons.

So we tried Boston's again since we were in the area.

This time we ordered the artichoke spinach dip, which came to our table hot and steamy!  It was probably the best of all of the dishes we had ordered this trip.
We ordered a potato appetizer that came out like fresh fried potato chips with sour cream dip.  Some of the chips were crispy, some were soggy so we ate around to find the crispy ones.
The nachos grande were loaded with tomatoes and jalapenos. Wished the salsa was much better or fresher -- we think the salsa comes out of a jar.
Daughter ordered the pasta with marinara sauce, which was a huge serving of pasta and meat sauce.  This dish was pretty darned good and since we had all of those appetizers, we had to ask for a togo box.
My SO ordered a pasta/carbonara/broccoli dish that was quite yummy also.  None of this dish was left over.
We went shortly after lunch on a Saturday, because we were heading to a movie.  Not too too crowded but it was extremely busy.
This time, we had great service and were quite pleased with the food.
AND the tables were not sticky!
I've updated my rating to 4 stars from 3.

My SO was flying home on Monday so instead of hanging out at the beach and rushing in traffic to get him to his flight, we drove in town and hung out at the River City Marketplace to enjoy a nice lunch and just spend the afternoon together.

Boston's is probably the only chain out of the chain haven RCM is that I haven't ever been to, so it worked for me. We were sat quickly and greeted promptly by our waitress. My SO ordered the seasonal Sam Adams draft which had just recently been changed to Oktoberfest. I ordered the Hard Cherry Cola; not something you want to let your six year old order. :)

They have a 'Playoff Payoff'  special going on now: choice of app, choice of 1/2 pasta or any pizza, and choice of dessert. It was a good deal and we hadn't eaten since early that morning, so we were hungry. Plus, it would keep him full until he got home to LA.

My SO ordered the nachos, the Tuscan pizza, and the apple crisp. The nachos were tasty, nothing impressive. I've definitely had better. I had a bite of his pizza. It was good, but I think after having mine, the flavors just didn't work right for me. I didn't try his apple crisp, so I'll have to withhold comment on that one.

I ordered the cactus cuts, the Flying Buffalo pizza, and the brownie. The cactus cuts seemed like warm potato chips. But they had a nice spice on them and were served with a nice dip; some pretty darn good potato chips if you ask me. The pizza had a good flavor, but again, it wasn't anything special. I'll have to agree with DY's review in that they seemed like 'fast food' or frozen pizza. Fancy, but frozen. The brownie hit the spot: cool vanilla ice cream, warm soft fudgy brownie. Yum!

Boston's isn't a place I would go out of the way to go to, but if I have to pick someone up at the airport and they're running late (or I'm early) I would consider stopping in for a snack.
