Bounty Hunter wine bar was the first wine bar my husband and I have ever experienced.

I started with an order of 3 different white wines for $10 and my husband had 3 different red wines for $22.

We also ordered an order of sliders, 1 cup of chicken tortilla soup and a green tossed pecan strawberry salad. Everything was tasty but the only downside to our meal was that we were charged $15 for only 2 sliders and that seemed a bit like a rip off.

I was expecting at least 3 sliders for that amount of money so for me this is a bit of a turn off. At this point I highly recommend BHWB for their awesome wine but wouldn't necessarily recommend them for their food. I left this joint still feeling hungry and that was a little disappointing. Out total bill with tip came to $74, which wasn't that bad.

So if your wondering about the 4 stars, it's because the staff was super friendly, fast and knowledgeable and the wine bar experience was awesome. I would definitely come back here again but order something with more substance.

My favorite place to eat in Napa.  Cool gastro pub vibe, great BBQ, big portions.  Good for couples or larger parties.  Everything's good on the menu.

The best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had in my life! Cozy and inviting atmosphere with a great selection of beer and wine. I will definitely be back soon to try more!

You know how it's always a mistake to go grocery shopping when you're hungry? Never write a Yelp review while your stomach is empty. You will have the urge to eat and all you can do is write about how good something is instead of eating it. That's what's going on right now. I could go for some pulled pork.
I was so excited to come here. Like, you don't understand. So. Excited. I prepared my stomach for a large amount of consumption that day. I knew I would be stuffing my face with meat, sauce dripping from my lips. Between the 3 of us, we ordered the beer can chicken and a platter with cole slaw, pulled pork and pulled beef. We each ordered a glass of red wine. Don't ask me what kind of wine I got- I was too distracted by the feast before us!
The beer can chicken was moist, cooked perfectly but a tad salty. It was a little hard to cut. I wanted to just pick up the whole thing and bite into it with my teeth. The pulled pork was excellent. You can never go wrong with pork. NEVER! I made myself a sandwich and I was in heaven. And, surprisingly, the cole slaw was outstanding. Just the perfect bit of vegetableness to counter the carcasses.
By the time the "slaughter" was over, the platter had been demolished but the majority of the chicken was still sitting in its plate. It was a bit much but worth getting for the experience.
As I write this, I long for the salty tenderness of the chicken meat, 1 week later. I will come back for you, beer can chicken!

I've come here twice now. Last time we got the beer can chicken and it was great. We make it a point to visit this place whenever we visit Napa.

I don't remember if I reviewed it or not last time but this time we added the bread pudding as a dessert and...Omg. We got the beer can chicken and split it between 4 of us (me, my wife, and her parents). We got the appetizer order of the ribs as well and they were super tender. The bread pudding put me over the top tho. I don't normally have a sweet tooth but this bread pudding ruined my life. If a bread pudding doesn't come close to this one...I may not even try to eat it. It was warm, moist, and delicious.

The service was great. Nice nice people. The prices from what I remember wasn't that bad either being that we split one chicken by 4 people and still didn't eat it all.

    I love this place.

Super delicious, good quality ingredients. The flavors were delicate and not over powering but enough to taste it in the food. Good service.

Loved this place. A bit local, a bit crowded, but the food did not disappoint. Pretty good service too. We got the BBQ plate to share, and it was MORE than enough food. Amazing meats. Good stuff, I want to go back.

Ordered chicken and beef brisket sandwiches. Beef one has warm/cold meat, as well as cold bread which should have been toasted a little bit. I sent it back. When it came back it was better. Still, not impressed. I am not going back there again.

Nothing beats this BBQ place. Order the ribs, beer can chicken or meat combo platter. And great wine-by-the-glass options! Friendly service.

Definitely try the beer can chicken!!!! It looks dry when at first glance but it was very tender, moist and flavorful. Big enough for two. The ribs, however, was mediocre and dry.  The sides were overpriced at $3 for a corn muffin.  The corn on the cob was ok. Also, you may be seated with people not in you party. However, the staff was very attentive and nice.  The place looked nice and the wine selection looked extensive.

I will try to make this short and sweet!  If you are looking for a restaurant that has AMAZING wait staff, fabulous food,  and I might mention, very reasonable prices.  This is the place for you!  I came in contact with 5 different wait staff,  all were all very attentive.  We were a party of 6,  we go out once a month and try new restaurants we haven't tried yet,  and I think this is my FAV!  The wait staff goes above and beyond,  telling you the story of the restaurant,  explains the wine you are drinking,  where it came from etc.  This Napa native can't WAIT to come back.

This place is perfect for meat lover's! If you are looking for some rare wines this place has them too.. If you are a vegetarian, don't go there! There are 3 options for you if that.. If you are vegan, there is one option, salad! ha.

Fun place to go to, amazing wine, just food was ok for me. My husband loves this place though and highly recommends it, but he is a meat eater!

Broad wine selection, great beers [including Guiness on tap] with attentive, casual service and oh yeah, great meats.

Eight of walked-in and had the charcuterie platter, pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, plus the BBW platter.  Wow, the meat is delicious -- ribs are phenomenal and while the pulled pork and brisket were a bit dry, with the sauces provided the meat was flavorful, wonderful, smokey.

    Love this place!

Who thought wine with BBQ was a good idea? I don't know, but Bounty Hunter definitely knows how to pull off that combo!

When we saw this place on Yelp, we knew we had to come here.  We had to wait a few minutes for table and hung out outside.  After a few minutes, we moved back inside to the bar area to wait and we apparently inconvenienced one of the waitresses since we didn't want a drink before we sat down.  A host did seat us shortly after but it took a while before our waiter came to our table.  The sommelier even came to our table before the waiter did....and that was not on purpose.  He gave us some tips on the wine, which were legit good ideas.  Very glad we didn't go with the cheap stuff.

We had the pulled pork and brisket sandwhiches.  They were pretty solid.  Can't complain about pulled pork...ever...especially with a good sauce to keep dipping it into!  We were satisfied with the meal and had a great evening.  It just was odd at the beginning with the service, but ended nicely.

The one thing that bothered me was how quickly the sommelier said to go with the wines that were only a dollar or two more.  For a place trying to give that image of classiness and really good wine, why even bother having these horrible wines as a recommendation to pair with certain entrees if they are really that bad?  Seems like they should just toss those and pair the meals with the better wines....but I'm not the restaurateur :)

On a recent trip to Napa, I was told to go to Bounty Hunter and I'm so glad that I did!

We ordered the ribs, beer can chicken and a corn chowder to start and what a meal it was. The corn chowder was so smooth and creamy and just a slight kick to it to add some flavour.

The ribs were so soft and tender and sauced perfectly! But the main attraction was the beer can chicken! It was so juicy and tender but full of flavour and had this amazing crispy skin!

With great service, great food and really good value, Bounty Hunter is worth a visit whenever one visits Napa!

Amazing!  Walked by Bounty Hunter a few times on our trip to Napa and decided to stop in one evening.. Sooo glad that we did!

Not only did we find the Best Red Wine we tasted in Napa (Broken Spur - Zinfandel California 2010..Yum).. but we had such a Fantastic dinner!

Jalapeño Corn Bread.. Yum!  My fiancé loved the Pulled Pork Sandwich, but we both agreed that the Beer Can Chicken Sandwich I got was out of this world!!   The Cole Slaw they served was Amazing (all I wanted was a big ol' bowl full)!  And I still crave it to this day!   Do they deliver??

Long story short.. Bounty Hunter is beyond Wonderful!  I can not wait until I return to Napa.. One of the first stops on my list!

    Loved Bounty Hunter Wine  Bar!!!

Oh My Gosh.. try the beer can chicken! They sell out of these, so you might have to get there early! Its amazing and can feed 3-4 people. One time I got this corn clam chowder here and it was sooooo good but the next time I went it was gone :( Bring it back please!
The only bad thing is that theres always a long wait so make a reservation.. but I guess that just means the food is good :)

Down and dirty barbecue. They have a whole roast chicken cooked with beer, and serve it with the beer can still in the chicken's butt. That is what this place is.
Wines are good, great value for flights, but there are better wines elsewhere.

It was our first time here and everything about it was great. =) Great service, the waiter was very friendly and offered many helpful tips for our stay in Napa.

The food was delicious. The pulled pork and brisket sandwiches were awesome! We also did some tasting and had a great time. Love their Chardonnay.  It's great they stay open till 12 in case you want to hang out after wine tasting.

When we head back I'd love to come back and this time I'm wearing pants ( i had on a dress) so I can sit in the saddle stool!

I went with a group of 6 on a Saturday night. It took us a little over an hour to get seated. I was a little bit bugged about the wait, but it was prime time. Once we were seated we ordered some wine and our food. The service was very friendly, and accommodating. When food came out it looked amazing! I quickly forgot about the hour it took to get seated, because it was well worth the wait. Me and my fiancé shared the BBQ platter. The ribs, pulled pork, and brisket was phenomenal. Definitely some of the best BBQ I've ever had. They also give you 3 different bottles of sauce, and I'm glad I tried all of them. They were all very tasty. I highly recommend the platter, and I will definitely be back.

4 out of 4 stars.  Let's face it, Napa is food heaven and they even do BBQ right.  My girlfriend nicknamed this place the Boar's Nest, as in  the Dukes of Hazard.  And, indeed, there is plenty of boar to be consumed.  Plenty of beers on tap, high quality, well seasoned meats, tasty sauce, great cole slaw, right in downtown Napa.  Take a break from all the snobby American New restaurants (like Celadon), and grab a stool at the Boar's Nest!

*I rate all restaurants on the same scale.  Some establishments, such as fast food chains have no hope of earning more than 2 stars.  Others can earn up to 5, but a 5 would indicate the finest dining experiences I've ever had.

This place must be super popular because every other tasting room staffs elsewhere mentioned it. The place looks super chilled with many bottles on one of the wall. Anyhow, I came here with my group of friends for a tasting and for some reasons, the waiter weren't too fond of us--maybe because we took the booth just to sip. We later decided to order the artichoke dip to go with our wine. The dip was amazing! It was filled with big chunks of artichokes and flavors!

The place was semi-busy when we were there but there were hardly any service. Took awhile to get our wine, and there was no water...not to mention the bill took forever to come when we asked for it. Maybe I need to give this place another try one day...at least for their other food items.

My husband and I stayed in Napa a few nights on our way back from Portland to SoCal.  We drove with our two small dogs in tow, so doing anything in Napa was limited to walking around town and eating out doors.  The Bounty Hunter is one of the few restaurants in downtown Napa that offers outdoor seating to visitors travelling with their pooches.  We called the restaurant up before walking over from our river-front hotel room, just to make sure we could bring our dogs.  We were told that we could bring the dogs but that the outdoor seating was very small and located near a busy street.  We went anyway because we wanted a good meal after the long drive from Portland to Napa, and there aren't many places in town that advertise a dog-friendly seating area.

After taking a table in the small outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant, we were quickly welcomed by the restaurant staff, who brought us menus for us and bowls of water for our dogs.  Our dogs are pretty well-behaved (our pug likes to beg and will bark at us once in a while to remind us to give him a sample of whatever we're eating) so we were okay with the seating area.  The wine and beer selection at the Bounty Hunter is pretty extensive, so we were able to enjoy some great local wine with our meal.  My husband ordered the beer-chicken sandwich and tomato bisque, and I had the pulled-pork sandwich with a salad.  Both dinners were really flavorful, but I liked the pulled-pork selection the best.  For a unique added flavor I recommend trying their mustard BBQ sauce.

All-in-all, my husband and I were very happy with our dinning experience at the Bounty Hunter, and we couldn't have asked for more attentive customer service.  I know Napa isn't set up for visitors and their pets (if there are more businesses that cater to pets, they need to advertise a little more).  We really appreciated the service and the good food from the Bounty Hunter.  I would definitely recommend this restaurant while visiting Napa!

I've had better BBQ, but Bounty Hunger was still very good and it also had a very good wine list to match. It was recommended to us by two different industry people, our driver for the day and then a bartender at a local hotel, so all the locals like it. Bounty Hunter can be casual but high end all at the same time.

Basically if you like BBQ and you like Wine, you'll like Bounty Hunter.

Came here for lunch and decided to order a half rack of the Smokin St. Louis Cut Ribs which were described as award winning, "fall off the bone" pork ribs. However, that was absolutely not the case when I got my entree. The ribs were extremely dry. There was no "falling off the bone" as I could barely get to the bone since it was so dry. Very disappointed and will not be back.

If there was anywhere I wanted to eat in Napa, this was it.  I am glad we stopped and despite my four star review, I found it to be pretty good.  Not as good as I had hoped in my mind.

Like others have said, this place is small and I can see how it gets really busy on a Friday evening.  Plan ahead as they do not take reservations.

We were seated quickly and our service was very good.  My husband and I shared a rack of bbq'd ribs.  He had a side order of cole slaw which he said wasn't all that great and I had a side salad.  The salad was a very healthy portion of fresh spring greens with a nice balsamic vinaigrette.  Nothing to write home about, but nice.

My husband thought it was awesome that they had three different bbq sauces to choose from.  I had seen that before, but he hadn't and was tickled.  I was amazed, he generally isn't a "spicy food" fan, but loved the chipotle sauce.  I didn't care for any of them, but if I had to list my favorite I would say I liked the mustard bbq.  I did it the majority of my ribs plain as I just wanted to enjoy the smokiness of the meat and not "gussy" it up with sauce.

They had a really nice beer/wine selection.  We ended up sharing a bottle of Laird Family Pinot Grigio which was great!!

You will get a lot of food for the price. I wish I had room for dessert as their blackberry cobbler sounded great!

Looking forward to visiting again and trying a sandwich or appetizer next time.

Small place with only 6 or 7 tables and a bar. Hubby and I had to wait 15 minutes for a table mid-day during the week. I asked the server if the sandwiches were on toasted buns and he said yes, so both of us ordered the brisket sandwich. The brisket was shredded very fine which I'm not used to, it had almost a ground meat texture. There was also almost no smoke flavor. Sauce was OK, but it never really felt like BBQ to me! The buns were also soft like they were steamed, not toasted. Because of this, the whole sandwich got mushy when you put sauce on the meat.

Older couple next to us got the beer can chicken and it looked good, but it's served upright on the beer can... You could tell both of them were a bit stumped on how to serve the chicken without looking like Fred and Wilma Flintstone tearing into the darned thing.

Two sandwiches and two beers were $50 which was a bit overpriced for what you're getting!

The Bounty Hunter is a great place to unwind after a day at the vineyards or before checking into that hotel or B & B.
The food is fresh, wholesome and there is laid back atmosphere.

    The BBQ is outstanding!
    Why?
It's not over cooked, It's moist!
    Not too overly seasoned..
The portions are the right amount..
The cost.. It's not expensive for what your getting!

The staff are knowledgable, respectful and don't bug you!

They do offer beer, spirits, and more wine. The wine bar is very nice! I've yet to indulge wine here! They also do pairings and flights.

I hope you've enjoyed yourself and the food as much as I have!!

My Lady and i Stopped in Napa on St. Pattys day for a bite to eat on the way home from Snowboarding in Tahoe. We walked up and down main street till we found something with a menu we liked.

We didn't want to spend $15 each to get the Cheese and Meat plate so our waitress offered to make us a special plate with a little of each. Its always nice when a place will work with you and get you what you want, this started our meal off perfect!!

I got an Ice-T and She got a 2oz pour of a couple of her fav wines. They were really busy and forgot to bring her wine right away. I asked a man walking by if we could get her wine now instead of waiting for dinner. The man ended up being the manager Blake. He apologized and brought her wines immediately, and added a special Rosé he thought she would like, on the house. Very nice of him and made any wait to get the wines totally forgotten and forgiven!!

We ordered the Gumbo Soup and the Flat Iron Steak special. I asked if we could get another plate so we could share the meal between the two of us. When the meal arrived, they split the meal into two plates, half for each of us. It made us feel very special, they could of just brought another plate and had us split it ourselves.

Our food was amazing, the waitress(Didn't get her name) and Blake(The Manager) made our night. We couldn't have been happier with our dinning experience!!!

Our tab came out to $61 and some change. I happily left a $100 bill and left the $38 to show our gratitude for making our meal memorable.

Although we live in Santa Rosa, We will definitely come back, we will bring our friends back.

5 Star Service and a 5 Star meal!!

    Thank you Bounty Hunter!!

My bf and I just stumbled upon Bounty Hunter after bailing on Morimoto as a result of poor service. We hadn't intended to stop, but walked past BH and the smell of BBQ stopped us in our tracks.

We shared the BBQ Platter and let me just say it was the best BBQ I think I've ever had. HUGE portions of brisket, pulled pork and ribs. And, I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw, but this was the best garlic-infused slaw I've ever tasted. We battled over every bite for more!

The service at BH was great - super friendly staff and not pretentious. Phew!

Best yet, for the platter that literally enabled us to skip dinner that night, two beers and a side of cornbread, our total was only $50. Can't beat that!

Next trip: BH first stop on the list.

Open late and has amazing BBQ at a price that won't break the bank (almost impossible in Napa).

I came here with a girlfriend during a weekend getaway trip to Napa and we devoured the Beer Can Chicken. It's HUGE and moist, and delicious. The corn bread is awesome too. I'd prefer a solid Beer Can Chicken over a fancy meal of "amuse bouches" anyway.

BBQ and a crazy selection of wines, life doesn't get any better! As I watched other customers receive their food I knew we couldn't go wrong with this place. Everything looked incredible!

We ordered the fall market salad, a pulled pork sandwich, jalapeño cornbread and ribs. All the food was delicious! The pulled pork was amazing, I would definitely order it again! There were also three tasty sauces to choose from. My favorite was the mustard sauce.

Atmosphere is cozy and fun. Servers were friendly and helpful. I would eat here again and again.

I love this place! Not a very big place, the inside decor it awesome! You can see the oven they cook in meat in the back, all their tables are held up by barrels, they have a massive wall of wines that you can purchase, they even have a cooling barrel for your wine.

The staff was attentive and knowledgable, I couldn't have asked for better service. I also really appreciate a smaller menu with a few great options and the spirits list!

    I ended up getting:
Apple Wood Smoked Beef Brisket- $13.50 Rubbed down with our proprietary blend of spices and then slowly smoked over split logs of apple wood...that's why it tastes so good! Suggested Wine Pairing: 2010 Justin "Savant," Red Blend - $6.75 / $17.00

The brisket was tender and full of flavor, they also had a great choices of sauces to add to your meal. In addition, I ended up trying their half sour pickles (half cucumber and pickle) and their jalapeño cornbread, which is amazing with the butter!

I couldn't have asked for a better meal.

Nice place in the heart of downtown Napa. We stopped in here for a couple drinks after taking a tour around the city. We weren't hungry but boy did the food look good!

The two of us sat at a big table that already had three couples at it. A bit different to sit with strangers, but was great chatting with some of the locals. Our server was excellent, very helpful. They have a great happy hour (2 for 1) and some cheap eats too. We tried a couple different wines and thought the pours were generous. It's too bad they can't get a bigger space because it seemed a lot of people went elsewhere when they didn't find a place to sit.

This place was not what I expected- we had been told it was a "must do" in Napa.  I was surprised to find an upscale bar specializing in BBQ.
I'm a Texas girl- I know my BBQ and that wasn't what I came to Napa to eat!  But Cali has a few BBQ tricks too!   The beer can chicken is so moist and full of flavor. I had never had that dish in a restaurant.  Only at the home of (slightly drunk) friends who were so overly amused by roasting chicken with a beer can stuck in its butt that they burned it so badly you couldn't see what brand of brew they were using.
Back to Bounty Hunter- try the chicken. You won't regret it.  I didn't have anything alcoholic but it seemed most of the wines and beer were local.  Nice job, Napa!

Why had I never thought of putting together fine wine and bbq in the middle of Napa Valley? Good thing someone else did!

A word to the wise here, that their BBQ smokin' platter is no joke. It really is provided for people to share, and Matt J. and I definitely had some trouble finishing that bad boy. It comes with brisket, tons of ribs, and a never ending mountain of pulled pork. Oh there is coleslaw too which is a nice change of pace every bite or so with all of that meat that you can help but continue to stare at while enjoying every bite. They give you options of sauces to try out on all of it too. This feast is about $33, and the only thing that annoyed me is how they charged extra for you to get some rolls to make sandwiches and whatnot with. Really? After spending that much on all of that food you are going to charge a few dollars more for some rolls? Seems a little cheap, but then I guess it is Napa and we do love capitalism in our country. Boo.

It is fun ambiance here, and definitely nice enough for a date and whatnot, but also laid back enough that if you find yourself a little sick of fancy restaurants, this place really does allow you to get all messy with the bbq sauce and it seems pretty much judgment free :-)

Everyone seems to love this place, especially the beer can chicken. I must have been here on an off night, or they can no longer handle their popularity. Regardless, this place was Not. Good.

We were a group* of three drunk and hangry ladies and one organized dude, and arrived at Bounty Hunter around 8pm. We were told the wait would be about an hour, it was almost two. They don't text you when your table is ready, thus you wait in the busy restaurant. This is always annoying, and in Napa it's extra annoying. We could have been down the road doing a wine tasting, ya feel me?

So we were finally seated, after sipping on whiskey for nearly two hours and were informed they were out of the chicken we were so excited about. Rage. So much rage. So we ordered the rib platter. It was delicious, but the taste of rage was strong in my mouth I don't think I'm going to go into food details.

    Rage cornucopia.

PEPPER'S PISSED: I get it it's wine country, but a few cocktail options would be great. They have whiskey and scotch and wine, and I think that's it. It made for some extra drunk and hangry ladies.

PEPPER POINTS: For giving us one free drink, at least they eventually noticed how craptastic our situation was.

    5/30
