I live on the Northeast side of Gilmer. Today, at breakfast, I drove past a full McDonalds, a full Jack In Box, a full Buckeye Diner and a full Dairy Queen on the way to Bourbon Street. When I got there around 08:00 a.m., there were no Customer's cars in the parking lot. As I was trying to determine if the restaurant was open (the Open sign was unlit) another Customer did arrive and entered before me. When I got inside, the other Customer was being shown the breakfast menu on a large easel. I decided what I wanted and turned my order in. The service was good and the food was out quickly and it was really good. I won't be back. My concern is the pricing. My bill was $8.36. I had two biscuits with gravy - $3.99, hashbrowns - $0.99, two small sausage patties - $1.49, and a diet coke - $2.25!! - no eggs included. Also,  coffee, milk, and juice refills cost extra. Fifteen minutes to the south in Gladewater, at The Tumbleweed,  I regularly have two scrambled eggs (with added Cheddar cheese), two  good sized sausage patties, hash browns, two large biscuits and cream gravy for $3.99 excluding tax. When I buy my fishing partner's usual coffee, two scrambled eggs, and two sausage patties, the bill is $9.52 including tax and no charge ever for refills on coffee or soft drinks. The owners of Bourbon Street will come to realize that pricing in a small town should be what the market will bear not what is being charged in larger cities. It is a nice, new, clean, spacious restaurant with good food. If I hear the prices have moderated, I would enjoy eating there again someday.
