A craft beer place along the lines of WOB and their ilk. Â Staffed by those types of people, too - enthusiastic, chatty, beer-loving people. Â They'll tell you what you need to know about what you want to try.
Selection is great, too. Â The draught stuff is great, but please please PLEASE don't be afraid of bottled beer! Â A lot of the imported stuff can only come in bottles because the foreign kegs use a different type of tap, so if you see something interesting in the bottled section of the menu, try it out. Â There's lots of cool stuff out there.
Darts, music, open patio that allows smoking, and dudes with beards serving you beer. Â This is how it should be.
Never been to a place like this. Â My guy is a beer junkie so he freaked out when he saw this. Â As he is a beer snob held them to a high standard so didn't like when a Guinness was poured in another brand glass or that it was poured wrong. Â I had a raspberry framboise beer &
It was yummy. Â Great special today, $1.50
Off all draughts so took advantage of this. Our waitress was excellent, a real subject matter expert on all things beer. Â Unfortunate you cannot eat here but that's the point..and server was great enough to say that of we want we can order from a local restaurant and would deliver food here and we can eat at brass tap. Â So unique & wish we had one in Toronto
Why 4 stars? Because who knew the Brandon mall could be cool?

Chain or not, I never expected to see a beer bar in Brandon, let alone at the mall. Be warned that Apple maps does a poor job of explaining the actual location of the BT. It's right next to Dick Sporting Goods and Cheesecake Factory. Apple Maps makes it seem like it's outside the mall area, by the Wal-mart. False, Apple... false.
Tons of beer selection here, and plenty of it is local. During my visit (Friday night) they had some really good live music, as well as a gaggle of TV's playing baseball and basketball. Basically, all of the keys to my heart.
So much beer - its the way into my heart.
For it being Brandon, it's the best you are going to find. Of course it is in the mall, its the only place to hang out in Brandon. Of course the Brass Tap is corporate, but what do you expect?
This place is really well put together. They really did a great job creating the mix of a classy atmosphere but with a chill vibe. Waitresses are the perfect mix between a knowledgeable beer drinker and a ditzy sorority girl. They are awfully cute. 40 beers on tap, over 300 bottles - you are bound to like something. Don't order a bud light.
No food, but you are welcome to order food from any of the restaurants around. Many of them will even deliver to Brass Tap and they don't mind if you eat inside.
Their patio is completely open into the restaurant. Smoking OK on the patio. they even have a cigar selection.
Tuesday and Sunday $3 Pints,Thursday 2-4-1 Ladies night, Hospitality night Monday and Wednesday
A-OK! If I am in the area... I will definitely go by.
This is THE place to go for a great beer selection in the Tampa area. Â Came here with a buddy after attending a wedding with him, and this was the highlight of the trip. Â Intelligent bar staffers, lots of great seating, and delicious beer. Â It's almost worth going back to Tampa just to go here.
Review Source:I love this place. I am not usually a beer person. But their selection is so huge that there is definitely something for everyone. The staff is always very friendly and are great with helping you pick out something to suit your taste.
They have live music which I especially love. They have an open air patio that is awesome. Something about drinking a beer on a hot summer night while feeling the breeze.
They do not have a food menu. However, there are several restaurants in the mall and they will deliver. I love the laid back feel. It is very nice establishment but it doesn't feel stuffy. This is definitely one of my favorite bars in Brandon.
I visit the Brass Tap when I'm feining for a new craft beer. Their selection is by far unbeatable in the area. Â Although it is easy to drop quite a few hard earned dollars here, the atmosphere, open air patio, and live music is worth it. I've always had great service!
Some of my favorites - Wells banana bread beer, Lost Coast Tangerine, Delerium Tremens, Jolly Pumpkin Weizen Bam, Youngs Double Chocolate Stout
If you're hungry, fear not. Any surrounding resto in the mall will deliver to you!
Be sure to ask your server what the daily special keg is(if there is one)!
Went to this bar a few months back for the first time after a day of shopping and have been back a few times since. Â I LOVE this spot. Had a good time drinking GREAT beer with friends last night while listening to some live music. the Brass Tap has a nice classy bar/pub feel and the service is always great! Â The staff there is very helpful and since they have SUCH A HUGE SELECTION of beer to pick from they are always happy to help and suggest something you may enjoy. Â Who knew I could love the taste of beer so much? Â Any type you like.... THEY GOT IT! Â Keep up the great work! See you soon!
Review Source:The best bar in Brandon, which really isn't saying much. They have an extensive (albeit overpriced) beer menu, and the staff members are very friendly and efficient.
However, I don't understand the insistence on having so much live music. I wish the management would recognize that people don't go here for bar bands, they go to talk to their friends and drink beer. It must be frustrating for all the musicians to get no applause because people are too busy shouting at the person next to them. When a band's playing, which seems to be every night, I sit outside, but there are many smokers out there.
This place could be so much better if there was just a juke box or the sound was on for a game on one of their many large TVs.
Excellent beer selection ( including ciders) and nice atmosphere with an open air patio.
Although they do not have a food menu, the surrounding  restaurants will deliver to your table.
We went there once and ordered guacamole from sinigual, pizza from cpk and dessert from cheesecake factory. Awesome!
Great place to hang..amazing beer selection and their live entertainment was fantastic..you would never know you were in a mall. A little too loud while the band was on to have any conversation, but they had several flat-screen TV's to keep your mind occupied. Â I would definitely go back.
Review Source:All I have to say is....beer, beer and more beer! Love it!! And I dont even mind that they dont serve food. There are so many other restaraunts around to get a bite to eat anyways. This is a cool place to hang out with friends, have a couple of different good beers from all over and do some catching up!
Review Source:The Brass Tap is a nice addition to the quickly expanding Brandon Mall. Situated next to The Cheesecake Factory, they've easily won my heart with their booze/dessert proximity.
So they don't serve food. While that's somewhat disappointing, they do understand that even drunks with the best intentions occassionally get hungry. To that end, they keep menus on hand for the surrounding mall restaurants which, I'm told, will actually deliver to the bar. Not too shabby.
They seem to have some nice happy hours (including $1.50 off all drafts all day on Sundays) and, most importantly, they have Magner's (though, unfortunately, not on draft).
All in all, it's a really nice atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is nice and while I was there they kept the doors to the inside open, as well. Granted, it was a nice day and I doubt they do that in the blistering heat of summer.
The service was good, the drinks were reasonably priced, and it gave me an excuse to knock one back on a Sunday afternoon. I'll definitely be coming back here again.
I always wondered who would be first to move into the Brandon and South Shore area: Â World of Beer or The Brass Tap. Â With the expansion on World of Beer all over the state, I'm glad The Brass Tap is still going to make it's own way.
My only complaint is that this location doesn't carry Lindemans Framboise but carries every other flavor including the one without the fruit. Â Lindemans Framboise is not only award winning but arguably the most popular flavor of this lambic. Â It's disappointing.
I've only been here once, but am definitely a fan. Â The Brass Tap is one part craft beer emporium, one part sports bar, one part neighborhood bar. Â
Granted, yeah, it's in a mall. Â But look... it's Florida. Â Most places are located in, next to, or otherwise associated with, some sort of mall. Â Also, they have a menu selection of restaurants in the mall THAT DELIVER to the bar. Â Pretty damn awesome.
The beer selection is very, very impressive. Â Particularly what they have on tap. Â Always check to see what is on special before ordering. Â Pricing is fair but not cheap. Â I was impressed with their happy hour selection though, and definitely helped save some green. Â
So why not the full monty? Â Well... I didn't dig the obnoxiously loud 2 man band that started playing during our visit. Â Also, our waitress didn't really know much about the beer. Â She couldn't really answer our questions, and compared HB to Bud Light. Â (Really? Â Seriously? Â Bah!) Â
It really is a pretty great bar, one that serves great beer without all the hipster 'tude that usually goes with it. Â Brass Tap, I'll be back!
