Great food. Hawaii typically has poor service compared to the main land but tonight was not the case. Food was some of the best i have had in general. Beats anything on the North shore ( even turtle bay) Well worth the visit and get the bread pudding!!!!

Service: SUCKED !
Food: it's the only reason they got 2 stars. Everything but the fries and Cole slaw was awesome. My son and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and my husband ordered the fish and chips.
Drinks: WORST MARGARITA IN THE WORLD ! It tasted like a lot of water with a shot of tequila. NEVER EVER AGAIN !

Service - poor at best.
Food - about like the service and overpriced.

Do not go here for dinner, a drink or lunch maybe.

I recommend turning around and eating somewhere else - two stars is very liberal.

Great place for breakfast and definitely my favorite in Haleiwa. The service was always great, the food was good, and they have free wifi!! Everything I tried was really good, but I wouldn't recommend their Loco Moco as there isn't enough gravy and the little amount they do put on is bland.

The food is amazing!! The service is not great, they have no hostess so it takes a whole to get seated. The waitresses are friendly but not very attentive. But the food seriously awesome, I had pizza, my hubby had the mahi Mahi burger and my friend had the Hawaiian burger. All dishes where excellent. The Caesar salad is great too they make their own dressing. So as long as you are not in a rush I'd highly recommend the FOOD! Drinks where good too.

I wasn't too thrilled with my last experience there. It took about an hour to get the Kalua pork fries we ordered, and when they showed up they were lukewarm. I ordered the fish and chips but I didn't like the taste of the mahi mahi. Maybe that's because there was absolutely no taste to them at all! My Long Island ice teas were watered down, and it took forever to get my second drink. That's why they didn't charge me for it because they knew they were wrong. I have no plans of coming back to this place.

We ate here for lunch on St. Patty's day. When we came in, it wasn't very busy. There were less than 10 other tables. We had a party of 6. We were seated quickly.

It didn't take too long to get our food, which was good. The food was mediocre. My friend ordered a salad that was described as having ''tomatoes and cucumbers'' - she got one cucumber and one tomato. Wow, they really went all out for that salad!

Our waitress was pretty awful. She didn't come back to check on us after we got our food, our drinks were empty for quite a while until another waitress walked by and re-filled them for us. We saw her face for less than 5 minutes for the entire time we were there. She didn't even get our checks for us, we waited for a while after finishing eating.. she never came back to see if we wanted another beer or anything. We had to go up front to ask for our checks. Needless to say, she received less than 10% in tips for her poor service.

I have many years of waitressing experience and understand if the restaurant is busy, but it wasn't at all.. she had one other table to tend to. Then she stood behind the bar talking to the bartender.

Sucks for her... we are normally GREAT tippers!

Mmmmm. Plenty good. Didn't try the fish fry. They have the kona IPA on tap which I like. I started with 3 stars, but also gave pizza bobs 3 and it wasn't as good, so I upped to 4. We sat near the grom wall, pics of the Florence boys and other local kids that ripped the North Shore over the years, the extra star for that and a more creative menu than some of the other Haleiwa spots. We had sandwiches and salads and a burger for the youngest boy, ... we were burned out from high fat meals over previous days so we didn't venture into what looked like tastier high calorie stuff. What we did get hit the spot for what we were in the mood for. I can't imagine being disappointed by the food here. The crowd was light when we went and the service was perfectly normal and pleasant.

Guinness on tap poured perfectly! Yummy pulled pork sandwich. I really liked the garlic fries. Fries are skinny and crunchy and garlic topping is super good. Location is great and service was friendly. This was our second stop here. We will be back! They serve breakfast!!

Boarders 2 stars at times, but I want to like this place despite several food or service issues. It's not bad, but pricy. Sometimes a let down.

We went here because i got a coupon from http://restaurant.com; coupon that i couldn't use because they said they don't know who put them in this website so they wasn't accepting this coupon. We ordered drinks, a California Burger, a chicken macademia nuts sand. Presentation was good but there was no flavor at all. Lack of customer service and management. Never got refills until we asked.Wait more than 10min for them to pocess our payment, with a lot of excuses about the cash register. Hope they fix this little things and get more than 2 1/2 stars, I will never come back again, it is very disappointed to come to this kind of places.

It was about 8:30pm (they close at 9) and we were starving after going to a party on the North Shore, so we stopped at the closest (open) establishment we could find. My husband and I were happy that something was open on a Sunday night. At the front, we were greeted and sat at a window table inside. But that's where the, ah, "experience" stopped...literally.

We waited and waited for even one of the two waitresses already serving 4 other tables combined but no waitress even looked our way; didn't even get a glass of water. You'd think they would welcome more tips? We noticed the bartender look our way a couple times but not once signal a server to our table.

Who knows how the food would have been but we figured, we wasted enough of our evening just sitting looking at a menu. We finally just got up and left. Service is a joke...period.

We understand it was the end of the evening but, don't post that you're open till 9 unless you're willing to seat and serve people until 9!

It's ok. My second time here. The service was pretty fast. The food is ok- nothing great. I got the grilled chicken sandwich. It was pretty plain. I do love the Kona Coffee mud Pie. I had ordered a pizza to go but the waitress forgot to put the order in. Now we have to wait....she brought the pizza and just set it on the table and walked off. She wasn't the greatest waitress and I did not tip her well. If the customer service was better, I would give it 4 stars.

We were originally going to a different restaurant in the area but decided to go here since they seemed to have a better selection for the kiddos.

The service was okay. Seemed like we were checked on only when our waitress remembered that we were there.

The food was meh.. I had the California burger, it was alright. The fries weren't good at all. My hubs at the Moco Loco. He enjoyed it.

Every time we come to North Shore we stop in a Breakers. Very nice, clean establishment. We've never had a bad experience. Yes, the turnover is high with different young people serving us, but they have always been friendly and helpful. Have had food. it's good, a little pricey but what isn't in Haleiwa?

We will continue to go back and spend our money. Feels like home.

I don't want to start and say that this was absolutely terrible but the price was high and the food was mediocre. Don't waste you time. If you are in the North Shore and looking for a bite, there are plenty of places up there to eat that is cheaper and WAAAY tastier.

But I hear that their bar and night life is awesome. So come for the drinks, not the food.

STAY AWAY!!!!! Horrible service and so so food.

First when we walked in it took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. And we they did the hostess said it would be a minute. For what? There is 10 people in the whole bat and six waitress and one hostess, Really?

Second when we where standing there the waitresses started arguing over tables. And I quote "there is a table of 12 coming in, and I don't know how you want to work this, but I've been here the longest and I think that should be me." Ok I get seniority but loose the tud and wait for conversation until everyone is out of the wait to be seated area.

Third when they decided to seat us they put us outside (great wanted to be out there) but they put us in the table closest to the door and pretty much in the parking lot. So whenever anyone came or left from the front row parking, we got face full of headlights. And there was more seating in the patio area.

Fourth took them 15 mins to come and take our order. Hawaiian Burger sucked. Over cooked and sorry excuse for a slice of pineapple. The Mahi Sandwich was good. But not amazing. The Mahi Tahi was the only decent thing I had.

Fifth all the beer taps where out. Actually broken. A Saturday night and your beer taps are broken. I know you can't control something like that. But that's just the tipping of the iceberg.

This place is in need of a Bar Rescue. There are better places in town. Go there. I would suggest Joe's or B's bar and grinder.

We popped into here for lunch before going on a hike. We sat outside, as we are somewhere warm. Which can be annoying, as there is a lot of foot traffic by the tables.

I had a yummy acai smoothie and the spinach salad. There wasn't a lot I could eat, but the salad was good. Steve had the mahi mahi club, which he said was good. I thought the drinks were expensive, but food was decently priced.

Def worth stopping in, if you want a pub lunch.

My friend and I went there for breakfast on Sunday morning and it was amazing. I had their Denver Omelet that came with a side of hashbrowns and some toast (the sour dough is delicious!). I was surprised about how good the breakfast was, as I didn't think that Breakers served breakfast and was more of a lunch/dinner/bar place. I would definitely go there again and try some of their other breakfast menu items.

The bartender Kat, was also amazing. She made sure that our drinks were always filled and that we had everything that we needed. She also helped with recommendations for breakfast, showing that she knows the menu and what the restaurant serves well.

Overall, if you're looking for a great place to eat Breakfast in North Shore, I would highly recommend this place!

I went to breakers for dinner with my husband. I had their special a "philly cheese steak" big mistake.. although I should have known better trying to order a cheese steak this far away from its homeland. It was very greasy and the roll fell apart. My husband got the chicken parm, it was okay, but for the price and how easy it is to make chicken parm it
could have been much better. Mai Tais are not very good, the service was terrible (got our meals before our drinks) Very over priced.

Girlfriend and I were passing through Haleiwa around noon and she was hungry, she saw Breakers Restaurant so we stopped. From the outside we noticed a lanai area for outside dining however it was somewhat windy that day so we decided on eating inside.

I liked the surf decore that the establishment presented. It was a little busy but nothing extreme with long waiting lines.

Girlfriend ordered the Kalani Cobb (romaine, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, blue cheese, bacon bits and blackend ahi and shrimps. I had the Spinach salad (spinach, bacon bits, candied walnuts, croutons and house vinigairette). When the salads came out they weren't anything exciting..looked like salad mix with vegs chopped up with some blackened ahi and shrimps and my spinach was just that...spinach..the house vinigirette though was pretty tasty.

Service was okay..nothing outstanding..several people did come by to see how we were doing but I'm thinking they see so many tourist what's another person in here.

Price - I thought it was a little pricer especially for a plain old regular salad, you would have thought it would be nalo greens and the portion wasn't anything to brag about either.

Overall, ehhhh..it worked..nothing memorable...

Um ... no.

My husband, girlfriend and I all decided to have dinner at Bonzai Sushi Bar and since there was a 30+ minute wait we figured why not go have drinks at Breakers to pass the time. It was about 8:00 at night when we arrived at Breakers, and the place was pretty much dead.

We sat at a table in the bar and the bartender decided to take our orders from behind the bar and had us come up and get our drinks ... really? You couldn't walk over to our table to take our order and serve us? Where is the customer service in that? I will give her points for being friendly and pouring strong drinks, but as a Yelper I guess I just have high expectations.

Not sure where the nasty sewer smell was coming from but it totally reeked in this place. It was dirty and I just felt gross being in there -- Maybe it was the opened rolled out CONDOM on the floor (not kidding), maybe it was all the beach bums ... either way I was ready to get out of there, and would never eat here. Well maybe if it was the last place on earth.

This is a most definitely a place for early 20+ somethings looking for a place to hook up and get shitty drunk. Not my scene. I guess I am not really in to the North Shore nightlife ... or any sort of nightlife period ... let's be real, lol.

Thankful to be in my 30's :)

I liked this place, the food was not so special... but the people were great and the service was even better. No island attitude, just nice folks.

I had the fish and chips, mahi was fresh and not too greasy. Saw a pizza go by, looked good as well.

But come for the service and stay to eat. I'll be back

So, I've been here several times now over the many years and I think I've been disappointed every time. But...it's in a convenient location and one of the few places that serves burgers (besides McDonalds.) So I keep coming back after all.

Tried somethign different this time to see if their non-burger menu items might be better. Tried the Clam Chowder, Salad, and Margherita Pizza. They were all just okay and nothing to brag about. It did the job of making me full. What's disappointing is the price they charge. But, you're in a tourist zone and I'm sure they pay top notch for their business space. Anyways, a descent place if you happen to be stuck in Haleiwa and you're craving burgers or other American type meals.

Giving them 3 Stars because my waitress was a HAOLE BITCH. That didn't want to turn up the air conditioner, put more alcohol in my drinks, and gave me attitude when I asked her questions&it wasn't that busy at this place when I went!

First off I like the location of this restaurant. Located in the Haleiwa Shopping Center where there's Cholo's Bar&Grill. You can't miss it, it's right at the corner. I like the set up where they have an outside seating area a long with a little upper deck seating area inside and a lower seating area inside as well. With the bar a long side the wall. The Big Flat Screen Televisions make it ideal for those Football Sundays or sports games to watch with your man/homies. The volume is a good amount and the crowd that comes in is perfect and it never seems to be suppper packed, but just right.

The food is greaaaaaaaat. I love the drink specials, they actually taste good! Normally they always give strong drinks here&I was gona give a better review as of the ratings but my waitress pissed me off. She kept giving me attitude the whole time&when I'm trying to just relax and have a good time with my friends that's just a FUCKING downer. (a little bit only this past one time I came in)

I love that they have events here sometimes. Must be great for people that live around this area so they don't have to go all the way to Honolulu to get toasted. LOL They also have a calendar that you can see when these events are kind of right by the bathroom. They sell merchandise also from tank tops to t-shirts the regular stuff. The bathrooms are clean and enough stalls. The parking is pretty good, but it always seems to be packed just be patient.

I will come here again, I just hope I don't have the same FUCKING waitress. LOL

Oh also you can write on the walls just ask the people that work there for a sharpie. LOL find mines!! But don't CAP it or else I'll be mad!LOL

By far the worst resturant i have gone too!!! The service was horrible!!! Food wasn't that great either! No water refills! We had to wait over an hour for our food to come out.. The hostess had to take our order. Didn't see our server till the end of our meal when we had to cash out! Completely horrible!!

In my eyes they deserve no stars!!!!

My first 1 star review... I've been saving it for something special.... i mean, especially poor. Breakers gave me a reason to.

Let's start with the positive: the food was ok, pretty standard burgers/sandwiches type menu. Tasted ok, but nothing special.

The problem starts with what food came out. There were six of us eating and they forgot three of the items we ordered, an entree and two apps. One app we asked for and they brought it out later, the other we just said we didn't care about any more and the entree we asked for them to still bring out. When they finally brought out the entree they forgot, it was the wrong entree. A completely different burger not even close to what was ordered. My guess is someone at another table was wondering where their burger was now. This is on top of bringing out the wrong entree for someone else and the wrong appetizer for our group. It got so ridiculous, we just ate the wrong food cause we were starving and didn't bother asking for that last app.

That was just the food. God forbid you try to get a drink refill or another beer. It took quite a while for our first beers to come out, and then we were waiting until well after they were empty to order another. Which again must have been forgotten because we had to ask another waitress to check on them.

The real kicker was when the bill arrived. We had tried to send the first wrong app back and she said to just go ahead and eat it and she'd bring out the right one (which she eventually did). But they charged us for both apps. They also charged us for the wrong burger. I'm not normally one to request some kind of compensation, but we did in this case. We had her take off the first app we tried to send back, and had to talk to a manager about removing the wrong burger that came out after everyone else was done eating. We stopped at that; but in a case where the service is THAT bad, you would think a restaurant would want to do something to apologize in hopes of keeping your business in the future. In most cases I'll give a place a second chance, but it our experience was so ridiculous from service to arguing the check that I will not be back and recommend anyone eat somewhere else.

If that's confusing to read, I apologize, it's just as confusing trying to remember what they actually got right. There are limited places to eat on the north shore, and needless to say we will be eating at any of the other restaurants around.

-service
-parking

My "go to" place in Haleiwa as it has a little of everything going on depending on when you go.

On a recent Friday night- it was a great band playing tunes to a packed house. Oh sure- there was a $5 cover, but given many places don't stay open late here or have any kind of entertainment, that was a steal! Drinks are cheap and the bartenders and bouncers are friendly.

We also went for Sunday brunch and to catch the Bears game. There are at least 10 TV's in the place and each one had a different game on it so find the one with your team and settle in for some bloody Mary's and breakfast. Given the time change to the Midwest- we were watching the Bears at 8am and instead of the normal game fare- we were munching on Eggs Benedict (quite tasty) Breakfast sandwiches, and Huevos Rancheros.

Service at Breakfast is a little slow but that's not the server's fault- they have huge areas of responsibility both indoors and out so they are hustling. And most of the delay was with the bar as they were backed up. Amy, who waited on us was great . . . . .so accommodating and helpful she really made our morning!

Our biggest issue came when they sat some Packers fans at the table next to us . . . . .but hey- what are the odds of that?

Check it out!

I normally hit this place up for breakfast as a start to my North Shore Day. I haven't eaten lunch or dinner there. I almost always sit outside and start up with a cup of bottomless Joe. I mean, when it comes to breakfast, sitting outside and lots of coffee are pretty much a requirement for a good day.

One of the things I like about the breakfast menu is that there is something from each breakfast category: sweet, savory and hippie, I mean, healthy. I'm of the savory ilk, but you can eat whatever floats your boat there.

Service, well, its typical North Shore service - casual bordering on indifference, but its a good reminder to go into neutral and just enjoy the slow pace of the day.

So if you go, slow down and enjoy eh brah, and start up your day with a breakfast that suits your style!

1st time there this past weekend. Went in there for brunch...

The waitresses are nice, but a little too much in their tiny skirts. The waitress kept forgetting if we asked for like an extra plate or something...she was nice, dont get me wrong...but a bit...too much for me.

Food is a bit on the expensive side...you get a lot of food (depends on what you order) & it actually doesnt taste that bad.

TRY THE LOCO MOCO!
