Good comfort food stop convenient to the state parks.  Tasty pies. :)

Very rude unprofessional owner.   2 hours wait for breakfast. Food used to be really good, lately hit or miss. Placed our order, watched numerous people eat and leave. Waitress says our order was lost. 25 people served before another waitress came over to say our order was lost again.  Asked to speak to owner.  She left and came back with a message from him 'just a few mins".  We asked to speak to him again, finally he came out and was extremely rude. We ordered bacon, toast, french toast and home fries.  Bacon tasted like it had been in a dehydrator.  Toast may as well have been bread.  French toast and home fries, not bad.  Waitresses were very apologetic. Very sad to see this happening to a place we have went to for over 10 years.  Pretty sure they have lost a few other customers too. Another table had the same issue.  However they didn't wait like we did and they left. It doesn't take a lot to figure out if a mistake is made you put that order at the top of the list and get it done, not fulfill every other order first. Slowly this will destroy your restaurant sir.  You should work on your customer service skills.  Maybe your waitresses will offer you some lessons.

If Cracker Barrel was just a locally owned place, it'd be Brown's Country Kitchen  That's not necessarily a bad thing.  My girlfriends and I stopped in here after doing some hiking.

I opted for my usual BLT.  I must confess that I am a BLT junkie and I judge a place by how well it does its BLTs.  O' but I was very pleased with this one.  Crisp toast, bacon cooked just right,  flavorful lettuce and tomato--perfecto!  Good coffee here too.

We topped off our lunches by splitting a slice of carrot cake and an order of Em's Special:  Dutch apple pie, topped with vanilla ice cream & hot caramel topping.  ooh baby, was that ever decadent.  And it certainly bumped up my rating from three to four stars.  And that's one of the many great things about being a chick--it's socially acceptable to share desserts.

And hey, we had been hiking for several miles that morning.  So we quickly metabolized those desserts, right?
