I liked this place when I went with a female friend. I would have given them 5 stars based on that experience: Great location, amazing wine list; beer & wine cocktails, too! Also, FANTASTIC staff and awesome food! HUGH PORTIONS!
The female server was very friendly, too.
Sadly, when I went with my husband, she (same server) was really rude and came across as a bit of a snob. Â Until we left, and she was nice when we were leaving? I guess she was happy to see us go.
-1 for the attitude and inconsistent service. I really think they only deserve 3, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
No reason for the 'tude:(
This place has improved tremendously since my last visit. Â The wine list is extensive and there is a larger selection of small plates. Â Service was much better too.
I enjoyed the Happy Hour white blend, the ahi tower (wanted to lick the plate - but not very lady like), warm brie crostini with aged balsamic and the shrimp melts. Â All were delish.
Glad to see that they have improved and expanded their menu, as there are the only wine bar left Morgan Hill.
First time here and I thought it was great. Â Tried the shrimp melts and the Ahi tower, both were really good, especially the sauce on the Ahi. Â The wine was good- tried the Happy Hour special blend that was nice. Â Atmosphere was great and the place is just the right size. Â Outdoor seating is a plus, but it was kind of cold to sit out there last night. Â Would be great on a summer day. The price for 2 glasses of wine each and apps was $40.00- so price was perfect.
Review Source:Bubbles is wonderful!
It's very comfortable. Â Has the feel of being at home, having some friends over for some wine & cheese.
Service: top notch. Â Michelle is the sweetest!
Food: GET THE CRAB STUFFED AVOCADO SALAD! Â So good! Â
Wine selection-great! Â Michelle listened to my snobby self ramble on & on, and suggested a semi-local zinfandel. Â I could not have been happier. Â The staff really knows their wines!
My first visit was less than impressive after they opened, but I've been back twice since and both times the service and the suggestions along with the tapas (small plates) more than met my expectations. I recommend not getting the creme brulee if you are a fan, here it is not good. But their smoked salmon appetizer is the bomb. Fair to middlin' in the wine selection. Not to the level of Purple Cafe in Washington if you are a fan of Wine Bars, Purple Cafe in Seattle is the epitome of wine bars in my humble opinion).

An average rating review like this just really bites...it bites because this is a locally owned establishment created by successful proprietors who through their ownership of Rosy's On The Beach, have done so much and given so much back to the community.
But at this time, 3 stars is about what I can give Bubbles. Â It is a solid wine bar but nothing more. Â Â I cannot say I'm a fan nor that it is outstanding either. Â So A-Ok it is.
The interior of the location has been nicely updated with the only hint of its former bank the vault that holds the shops wine. Â Like most wine bars you can order by the glass or by the flight. Â also, you can choose one of the bottles in the vault and have the wine by the glass with a minimum of two glasses. Â
What underwhelmed me frankly was both the wine selection and the cheese selection. Â The glass and flight offerings, especially with an awesome name like Bubbles are fairly pedestrian. Â Â Â I was disappointed in the Champagne flight although to be fair the bottle menu is substantially better. Â And if you have read my reviews you know wine temperature matters and both times I have reds here they were at room temperature when they should be a few degrees cooler.
The cheese selection, given the unique cheeses that are available out there, is also mediocre. Â A wide selection of cheeses easily found at your local Trader Joe's. Â OC Wine Mart in Irvine has far more unique cheeses from artisan cheese makers. Â
Service was solid if not overly friendly or chatty. I'd give that a solid rating when outstanding, especially for the prices, is what should be delivered too.
Finally, local wine choices are decent but some of my favorites like Jason Stephens and Aver were not on the menu yet mediocre offerings from The Winery That Shall Not Be Named were. Â I know this is a newer establishment but the buyers here need to step up their game and make this the destination it has the potential to be. Â
I have not tried their food choices and maybe that will help increase their rating in the future. Â I will continue to visit Bubbles...maybe not as much as expected when I first started working in Morgan Hill...and hopefully they will find their stride and become as successful as their other restaurant.
Drink specials are the way to go,which are $5 for a heavy pour of great wine! Good atmosphere, friendly staff, quality wine at a quality price! The chocolate torte is delicious, and is made with no flour, so its extremely thick and rich. Would recommend the bergin Cabernet Sauvignon and the martin ranch 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. Small food portions, better for appetizers or desert, not dinner.
Review Source:YES!
My friend and I wanted to go out for a nice evening. Nothing too crazy. She likes wine a lot. I like champagne a lot. And *cough* this is where Bubbles comes in! We both got the flights. I the Bubbly&Brilliant (3 different types of champagnes). Her the Sweet wines. $15 each flight. And sooo well worth it. I loved this place. It was NOT crowded, only three other parties where there on a Saturday night around 7pm. Wow! :) Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Kept checking up on us. The look of the place is very nice. Will come back for sure.
Having recently moved to Morgan Hill, I have been wanting to visit Bubbles. Tonight I finally got to go and I wasn't disappointed. It was exactly what I was hoping for for a catch-up night with a girlfriend that I hadn't seen in a while. Loved the patio when we first arrived. Perfect for a Saturday summer evening. Eventually the wind picked up and the sun went down and we were warmly informed by our server that if and when we got cold that we could move inside at any point and pick any table available, that we wanted. We did eventually move inside after a while and we picked up with our server right where we left off. Everyone there is very nice, attentive and informative. Really cute and nice atmosphere. Really comfy when you're looking for a "chill" evening. I liked the wine menu and enjoyed that there were many local wines to choose from. Loved the small plates and oysters! YUM! Definitely will be visiting more often!
Review Source:I have been here twice so far, with two different groups I joined on http://meetup.com. Both times I ordered soda (not really a drinker!) Â Both times I've been there so far, it has been in the afternoon before dark. The second time was just last night (March 30) and this was the first time I had any food from this place. Â A small place but very nice ambiances. Â On my second visit, once it got past 6PM, it began to get noisy once more people filed in. Â One thing I just don't understand is why happy Hour is at 4PM, when most people are still at work. Â Our group met then, though some of the people did not arrive till after that time. But I liked going to this place and hope to be back.
Review Source:If you appreciate wine, don't come here. The wine selection is weak at best, the food looks and tastes like it's from a party platter purchased at Safeway, and the service is painfully slow and incompetent. This isn't a one time thing either, I've visited four different times before I had enough. Â
The name Bubbles is comical when you consider their selection of 'bubbles' contains libations such as Lamarca Prosecco for $25, which can be had for $10 at Costco, Safeway, and everywhere in between. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the price markup as that is expected, but rather the product sourcing. The reason for going to a wine bar is to try something you can't get for yourself at the grocery store.
And lastly, the service. Tasting notes? Blank stare. Food pairings? Blank stare. The bill? Blank stare and a 40 minute wait. Seriously, the service sucks. Hire someone who actually knows how to turn a bill in a timely fashion.
Go at your own risk. You were warned.
P.S. Bubbles - if you actually read these reviews - take those stupid TV's off the wall. I came to relax with my girlfriend, not watch the 49ers game.
I'm not a big fan of wine in general (more like, I "try" to like it), but I did find "one" champagne on the menu that I love -- sparkling strawberry (or something like that) sugar rimmed glass, and cut strawberries within -- Mmmmmmm. I have many friends that like to go for a drink at Bubbles, and now I can join them, and actually enjoy the experience ;) Their small plate appetizers are really good also. They used to have a smoked salmon, with smoked various cheese, and cracker plate also, that they removed from the menu - boo :( It was so good! Another thumbs up for a Morgan Hill establishment. I love this town! :)
Review Source:Update! I tried to come here last night around 10:45 PM (Yelp told me they closed at midnight), but we were told they were closing at 11:00. When we said that we thought they closed at midnight we were told simply, "Not tonight." The server suggested we could order a glass of wine and maybe "chug it." Huh? The place only had two people in it so I guess maybe they all wanted to go home? I don't like it when establishments have arbitrary business hours.
Review Source:Bubbles has a nice (but small) selection of wine and food.
A great place for apps and drinks before or after dinner.
I blogged about it here...

I love coming here with my husband for a drink or 2. I love the vibe of the restaurant, and they have great outdoor seating for nice nights.
Not only do I love their champagne but I LOVE the specialty drink the Strawberry Sparkler.
Prices are ok. Not cheap, but that what you expect when you come to a place like this.
Why doesn't anyone have moscato? Â It would be a great addition to a business catering to wine bar patrons looking for a nightcap. Â They have a blood orange mimosa that is... notsogood. Â They offer several types of appetizer-type dishes. Â Manchego grilled cheese sandwich, a salty layered beet salad, choc. mousse. Â Not a bad place at all!
Review Source:Painfully slow service and was not impressed with the wine selection... Columbia Crest H3 stood out as an example of what I was not looking for... the wine menu had no description, just a list of what they had... so there was nothing to entice you into choosing a wine you never heard of before. Â I asked a few questions and then went with a solid choice, a port. Â I was expecting more reds and more enticing wine flights. Â Paying the bill took an eternity! Â I understand people want to unwind at a wine bar, but this was excessive.
Review Source:This is my favorite spot to have an after work drink or have a nice evening out with friends. The menu has a lot of great wine choices and fun cocktails. I enjoy the champagne ones especially. Beyond the drinks is a fun little appetizer menu. I recommend the cheese plate. The staff is nice and made wonderful suggestions on the cheeses. Prices are about what you'd expect for an upscale wine bar: not outrageous, but not cheap either. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.
Review Source:My husband and I have officially made this place our date night desitination in Morgan Hill. Â We love the great selections of wines and amazing gourmet food plates! Â Our favorites are the "Smoke This" smoked fish plate and the cheese, olive and fruit plate. Â Both are extremely fresh, high quality plates which are perfect for sharing while enjoying the intimate tables or socializing with friends. Â We have to give a big shout out to the best server in the place- Jennifer. Â Jennifer always comes at just the right time for refills, plate removal and checks. Â She is always super nice and very likeable with a warm, genuine smile. Â What more can I say? Â Stop by, you won't regret it!
Review Source:Great place to go to. Â The I can't decide is a very nice plate of appetizers: Â cheese, meats, etc.--I would say the best plate like this you will find in Morgan Hill. Â Extensive, high quality selection of wines. Â Our server took very good care of us, we ordered of bottle of sparkling wine which was not cold yet--so she gave us each a glass of something else on the house while we waited for it to be chilled.
Review Source:Bubbles is the toast of the town! Â A fun setting, knowledgable staff, Â delicious food to accompany the wines - what more could you ask? Â The first time I was there I wanted to try a flight of Spanish wines and, although it wasn't on the menu, Jen brought me two tempranillos and one albarino - all delicious. Â This last time I visited, I brought along 5 friends. I ordered the Pinot Noir flight on the menu, all very good and generously poured. Â We shared a large cheese plate with an excellent selection of cheeses, fruit and nuts along with several other dishes. Yum!
Review Source:**BEST WINE BAR IN MORGAN HILL**
Great ambiance, friendly staff, and wonderful wines.
Their selection included bottles of local wines, glasses of bubbles (of course), variety of reds and whites, bubble cocktails like mimosas and sangrias, and an enticing flights menu.
I opted for the Aren't They Sweet flight ($12) which included the:
*Niege Apple Ice Wine - tasted like an Apple Jolly Rancher
*Essencia Orange Muscat - beautifully flavored between apricots and orange
*Vinum Late Harvest Gewurtraminer - nicely balanced
For those who desire some gourmet munchies, they offered plates such as artisan cheese, meats, veggies, and seafood. Soups, salads, and desserts were also on the menu.
We took our time, enjoyed our wines, and had nice conversations without being bothered.
Spacious layout and warm tones.
The staff always smiled.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for groups and couples looking for an elegant evening out in Morgan Hill.
My friend and I were happy to find a new place to hang out. Â The first visit was pleasant so we decided to go again to celebrate her birthday with couple other friends. Â That was a horrible experience for us! Â The service was slow, the waitresses, there are only 2 did not seem to enjoy their jobs because they were not very attentive, granted there were many people at the wine bar. Â We were told to be quiet by one waitress because a guest was complaining about our noise level, but we heard other tables on the other end of the room making noise as well. Â I told the waitress 4 times that it was my friends birthday and no recognition from her, not even to say happy birthday to my friend! Â We will not be picking that spot as our new place to hang. Â They lost our business.
