This review is of the Burlington, NC location at 3128 Walden Lane in the Alamance Crossing shopping center.
We went with friends this afternoon. Â To start we ordered the Sampler appetizer platter. Â Everything on the platter was cold. Â Yes, the boneless wings, the deep fried cheese, and onion rings were cold. Â Excuse me? Â Each of these items should have come fresh and hot out of the deep fryer. Â No, they were cold. Â One of the dipping sauces tasted rancid. Â We got two containers of Ranch dressing and were never asked if we might prefer Blue Cheese. Â The Marinara sauce came out of a jar. Â One person in our party ordered the Jerk seasoned wings. Â All you could taste was clove. Â I have to admit I have never had Jerk seasoning, so when I got home I looked up Jerk seasoning recipes online. Â I couldn't find one that had clove. Â It was awful.
We were also told that the football game we were interested in watching would be *featured* in the bar area, but it was only shown on one small LCD screen, and on a projection screen that was badly distorted. Â I could understand this if the game we wanted to see was an out-of-town team, but we were interested in watching the game from our area's home team. Â If you were from Pittsburgh or Dallas you were in luck. Â If you wanted to watch the home team Carolina Panthers, not so much.
On the positive side, our server(s) were attentive.
Live and learn. Â Bad food, bad advice. Â Next time it's Hooters. Â We won't be returning to this location of Buffalo Wild Wings.
Too bad our service was terrible, because the food was actually pretty good, and not too pricey. Â We had the fried mushroom appetizer, several baskets of wings, and various entrees within our 8 person party. Â
..And it wasn't us having 8 people that slowed our service down. Â It took an entire 30 minutes just to have our bill + credit card taken to the register so we could leave. Â Call me crazy, but I would think that'd be her chosen moment to redeem herself (considering a gratuity is soon to be determined.) Â It doesn't help her case that the dining room was practically empty, either. Â This same service was reflective of our entire time dining.
One thing they've got going for them, if it accounts for anything, is their potato wedges. Â Simple as it sounds, with a little ranch dressing, they were SO delicious! Â Then again, I guess ranch can make anything taste good. Â The Buffalo Chicken Wrap was pretty good, too. Â Great beer selection, full bar, free wi-fi and complimentary birthday desserts are another plus.
When leaving, you'd have thought we had just left a million bucks on our table. Â We got so many smiles and opened doors. Â A dozen people must have told us to have a great night and come back again. Â If only our waitress could take a few lessons from them in being attentive, we'd have a winner.
Two words: Â Hot. Mess.
And, no, I'm not describing your girlfriend last Saturday night. Â I'm talking about the Burlington version of BDubs. Â Let me start with the positive: beer, lots of TVs, beer, and lots of TVs. Â Now, for the negative...
The service? It sucked. Â I never got a drink refill... and call me cheap, but when I'm paying over 2$ for a soda, you better believe I want my moneys worth. Â And I'm not one of those people who sucks down seven glasses in an hour. Â I could have used ONE refill. That's it. Â Just one. Â Further, I ordered the "hot" flavored wings. Â Thankfully, my wings had maybe a teaspoon of the hot variety wingsauce on them because otherwise the *one* soda wouldn't have cut it. Â Even more so, she just wasn't friendly. No smiles, no positive energy. Â Just bored and harrassed looking. Â So, to the wings. Â They sucked. Â They had hardly any sauce and you could tell they were sitting under the hot lamps for about 15 minutes before coming out. Â A friend of mine ordered 6 teriyaki and 6 honey bbq. Â Instead, she received 12 teriyaki. Â When she pointed it out to the Expo who brought our food, she took all the wings back, they refried 6 of the wings, and re-sauced them with the correct sauce. Â I think that is so tacky. Â Just leave the damn 12 wings and bring out 6 honey bbq! Â How much money are you really losing by doing that? Â Instead, my friend sat waiting... and waiting... and waiting... for her wings. Â My nachos were cold and lacked the main ingredient: cheese. Â Because of the lack of sauce on the wings and flavor we all had to order an extra side of the wingsauce - a shame for BDubs.
Why am I not giving this abysmal review only 1 star? Well, call it my own fault, but I never was able to flag down or get a manager. Â So, whenever that occurs I refuse to rate a place with one star. I'm dissapointed. Â This was my go to hang out spot in Wilmington. Hopefully they fix the above issues or else the Burlington spot will continue to be a crying shame.
Wings, wings, wings! I am not sure why other people order things besides wings here. Â They have a great selection of different sauces for the wings so no matter what your mood is.
They have lots of screens showing a variety of sports at all times which is really good when you don't have a specific game in mind.
