The Burleigh House

Somewhat suprised that the one review of this place mentions food.  I have been coming here for 20 years and have never seen even a bag of pretzels in the place.

As far as drinking goes it is a classic small town bar.  In my opinion it's too big for its own britches as it always feels empty even when there are a decent amount of people in the place.  It's a local dive bar with about a 1000 to many square feet.   Just an observation rather than a criticism.  

I really enjoy the place in general.  It's best attribute by far being the hours it keeps.  For example Sunday night at eleven when the rest of the town is ghost you will always find this place still serving.  That being said I can't really see myself frequenting the establishment at any other time.  If another place in town is open I am probably going there first, however when all else fails "Doc's" is always there for you and there is a lot to be said for that.

Went here for lunch a couple of times. The food is pretty much your standard diner fair, but its done very well. I got a patty melt which was done just the way I like it. The staff is somewhat odd though. They seem to be proud of being rude to customers, especially ones from out of town. There are signs all over the wall explaining this but it didn't seem to come off as a joke to me. Also they only take cash and there is no ATM there so be prepared. I only recommend this place if you've got cash in hand and you don't mind the waitress' being a little moody.
