Lively, attractive restaurant right off in interstate in Batesville.  The wait staff is surprisingly young but friendly and attentive.  Very nice menu, great bar.  The food is well-prepared and well-presented.  (Delicious bread!)  A great option between Indianapolis and Cincinnati.

This is truly one of the best restaurants in the Southeast Indiana and Western Cincinnati area.They recently opened so you can tell that some of the staff is still learning a few things but overall I have had nothing but good experiences thus far the times I have been there for lunch, dinner and evening drinks. First of all, the food is great. Some items are a bit pricy, but overall you should expect a pleasant experience. I understand that the chef and his staff make their own bread for the sandwiches and burgers they serve, so that adds freshness to an already great recipe of ingredients in sandwiches. All sandwiches also come with house made cole slaw that looks and tastes a bit more like a salad than cole slaw. I like it but some people have told me they are indifferent to it, so I guess its one of those things that you have to try for yourself.

Walhill has a baked ham and cheese sandwich that is accented by fig and appricot chutney - it is awesome! - I have never had anything like it and I highly recommend it for lunch. Their buffalo burger and house "Walhill" burger are seasoned and prepared extremely well. The burgers are juicy and perfectly seasoned. The only item in the menu I have not been completely bought into is the chicken caprese sandwich. It is basically a grilled chicken sandwich with italian herbs. All sandwiches are served with house made chips which is an excellent blend of potatoes, yucca, sweet potato and sometimes taro.

As far as dinner dishes, their braised rabbit is one of the best I've ever tasted. They also have Elk medallions and much more that I can't wait to try. There is live entertainment on Friday evenings and most days they offer drink "happy hour" specials. Overall this is a restaurant that is extremely good at providing options, great service and great food to customers. This place is a jewel in rural Indiana.
