On our never ending hunt the perfect Bloody Mary, we were clued into the Opera Haus in St. Nazianz's. So we're back again after stopping by yesterday. Peggy is the daytime bartender and little did we know that she makes a most wonderful concoction called a Clam Digger. It's just a bloody made with clam juice and your choice of homemade pickles, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms and local horseradish. We were fortunate to have Butch, the owner for many, many years tend to our every need. From the beer chasers to the Brandy Old Fashion Sweet's that were served to perfection, you can't go wrong here. Happy hour pull tabs tell you how much you'll pay for your drink and the locals will clue you on on the next joint you should stop by and visit. The food we sampled is flavorful and we'd have no issue ordering anything off the menu or off the Special board. Family style breakfast served Friday through Sunday. Make sure you meet Butch if he isn't behind the bar tending. Ask about the 'shine'.
