Cafe 94 is almost as great as the ride to get there! Â I had to post something on this cool, old tyme cafe out in the middle of nowhere along Old 94. Â A friend told me about this great motorcycle ride through the hills outside of San Diego with a great destination and I am stoked I took the ride. Â
Cafe 94 is a tiny restaurant, counter seating (diner style) and some booths, that is attached to one of the coolest old school general stores I have been to. Â I grew up around these kind of little general stores... creeky wooden floors, narrow isles, cash registers that are not computers, and smiling nice people. Â
The food at Cafe 94 has all kind of good food, home made everything, but primarily mexican fare - since it's only about 1 mile from the border! Â It is a beautiful country setting and you feel a thousand miles away from the city, even though it's only about 1 hour out!
This is a popular motorcycle rider stop and if you ride out you are sure to get into some great conversations with bikers and get to see some great bikes! Â And the ride on Old 94 is outstanding.. hills, canyons, peaks, hairpins, long banked turns to lay into at high speed... the best ride I have done in SD for sure!
Obviously a secluded spot, but if you ride you should know about it!
