Two stars would be too harsh for this place.
To start off, it's a nice place located in beautiful Avon. Small establishment, great ambience and nice staff.
We were greeted immediately and sat down just as quickly. Our waiter proceeded to bring our bowl of salsa and chips and then as he set the chips down, he picks it up and takes it away.
Awkward much?
So as we wait for Mr. Waiter to come back to take our order, we sit and talk and watch our salsa with nothing to eat it with. Not to mention that he took forever to come back because he got caught up in conversation with another table. Eventually, he came by and got our order as well as our chips once we asked him for them.
Food wasn't bad, but it wasnt amazing either. The stuffed sopapipilla's were very good but kind of lacked flavor.
I would go back again if I was starving or something. Definitely not my first choice in Avon.
What up chili relleno. I think you're amazing and delicious and incredibly hard to find in Portland, Or.
I enjoy you lots enchiladas with the white sauce. WHY ARE YOU ALSO SO HARD TO FIND?
I drink $5 pint glass margaritas up even if it is the dead of winter.
Bartender man you're very nice.
Space is kinda cold. I don't know why I'm noting that because the food is delicious and warm but I just noticed when I was in there that I was freezing.
Will probably supplant Fiesta Jalisco as my favorite mexican restaurant in Avon. Â I had the chicken enchiladas with creamy white jalapeno sauce, and it was dynamite. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere casual and clean.
Most importantly, they have cholula. Â Any restaurant that only has tobasco knows nothing about hot sauce with flavor. Â Oh, and their homemade salsa is really good too. Â I just usually add cholula for additional festivity.
We went out of the way to come out to Cafe De Luna since they serve a late breakfast. That's a rare commodity in the Vail area.
The server seemed to not really want to be at work that day. It's too bad really because the atmosphere of Cafe De Luna set it up to be a really nice experience.
After we got the food we saw very little of our server.
The food was good, but my wife found a hair in her eggs & she lost her appetite, so her plate was wasted.
A couple tweaks to the service & the kitchen & this could be a four or even a five star restaurant, but alas...
Three people and three happy tummies. Â We stopped in for a mid-roadtrip lunch; ordered the tequila chicken salad, chicken rellenos, and tamales. Service was fast and friendly, Â food was prepared and plated well, and lots of good flavor. The rellenos had a good amount of heat, also. Great lunch ... thanks!
Review Source:We ordered the tamale, chicken burrito and taco salad. Â Everything was fresh, we all enjoyed our meal. Â The restaurant is in the Christie Lodge and is a welcomed addition to the variety of places now available in Avon. Â Parking was easy, the restaurant itself was very clean and well set up as a sports bar or just to visit. Â I found the menu easy to read and well priced. Â A couple of the menu items were not available, but it is off season and this is a new restaurant and I expect it to improve over time.
