Not really sure why this place gets 3+ stars. Â It must just be the location. Â We have been there several times and have been regularly disappointed. Â The food is barely average, the wine list meager, and the service is frequently lackluster. Â There are many better alternatives in the Venice downtown area.
Review Source:This place is amazing! Not only are they very dog friendly on their front patio, but the service is amazing! Michelle is the best! Always remembers us, what we drink, and always takes the time to sit and chat a bit! The crab cakes are TO DIE FOR! Actually, everything is delicious! Definitely recommend this place to anyone!!!
Review Source:Just had lunch here - three couples. Â We could not have asked for a nicer place to meet. Â Service was wonderful, wait staff was very attentive and the hostess was especially kind and helpful. Â And the food...perfect. Â We all look forward to returning here again.
Actually, this was our second visit here within 3 weeks and we will return...highly recommended
After traveling for about a year on the West Coast of Florida and being somewhat disappointed in the restaurants we stumbled into Cafe Venice. No Internet to Yelp it so we walked in and had one of the best 5 meals we have experienced on Florida's west coast. I enjoyed the special of the day Veal Shank and a delicious soup of the day and extremely crisp and fresh salad. My wife had a veal dish that was also very good. You will not be disappointed in the food, the service or the price. Definitely a good choice.
Review Source:Worst Ahi Tuna I have ever had. Rubbery, tough, cold, previously frozen is not what one would expect for $24.00. The other 3 members of my party where happy with their meals. I was surprised they could  let my dish out of the kitchen. Would not recommend this restaurant, too many other choices in Venice. They did give me a crab cake to make up for the poor meal, not close to satisfied.
Review Source:i was visiting Venice for business and this place was right across the street. Â Boy was I lucky. Â This place had great atmosphere and food. Â Service was a bit spotty, but it's Florida, so I just expect it to be slow when I go out. Â
I did try the tomato-basil bisque, and it was great. Â Recommend it! Â And, it was perfect soup weather out! Â
I was able to sample most of the sandwiches they offered, and they were all great. Â As long as you aren't allergic to anything on them, that is the route I suggest. Â
Everyone seemed to enjoy the dishes they had there. Â It was also quiet busy each time, which can be (and in this case, is) an indicator of how good the place is. Â
Check it out.
