I've been eating at the Dairy Freeze for years, and thought I should write a review. Â First off, the fried chicken and burgers are amazing! Â There is nothing better than fresh southern style fried chicken! Â The chicken here beats Popeye's, KFC, Roy Rogers, etc. Â The skin is always crispy/crunchy and the chicken is always moist. Â I'm not a fan of cole slaw, but my chicken came with a side of cole slaw so I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did, because that was good too. Â Best fried chicken I've ever had hands down. Â
The burgers were also great, all the toppings were fresh, bread was good, overall a great burger.
For dessert, I always get a chocolate cone which is always great! Â You could definitely tell that the soft serve was also freshly made and not just sitting around. Â The choclate soft serve also has tiny little flakes of chocolate in it which adds some more goodness to the overall taste.
Overall, the service is great, the food is great, and I would recommend the Dairy Freeze to anyone who loves good and freshly cooked food. Â Over the years that I have been coming here, I have never once had a bad experience. Â I wish Northern Virginia had places like this!
I was back East visiting a friend at his beach house that was out this way. We'd been eating Blue Crab, Oysters, and Fish for a couple days. I was jonesing for a burger or something, so I stopped into here. I grabbed 1 of their specials. A double cheese burger, fries, and a drink for $6. The burger was pretty good, but the fries were greasy and soggy.
The menu looked pretty good. They also had other items like soft shell crab sandwiches, fried oyster sandwiches, and fried seafood platters.... so yes it wasn't a health food place.
