Carbondale Beer Works

The two stars are for the guest beers they have on tap only. I have lived in Carbondale for about a year and have given this brewery multiple times to change my opinion about their beer. The beer is extremely inconsistent to say the least. Again last night, a friend of mine ordered their Red Hill IPA and it was awful. The beer had no carbonation and was extremely young and unfinished. It tasted as if I was sipping beer directly from the fermenter. It has become a joke around town about how their beer is always "flat". Its not flat, because it usually isn't carbonated enough to begin with. when the beer was returned, we were told "thats just how it pours" by a very new bartender. The last thing customers need is someone making excuses for a very poor product. We all know what good beer tastes like, this wasn't my first time drinking it. If you look at their guest tap list, it usually has very good beers on it from other microbreweries. This is their only "saving grace". Do not go there for the ambiance either, it really is just an unsavory bar with a patio. I look forward to a day when we have another local beer option here in Carbondale.

The spicy dog I had was tasty,  but not for approx. $9.  The fryer was broken, so no fries.   The beer was good!   The food is a little pricey for what you get!

Great beer selecion. Average beer food -- hot dogs, fries, and such. Cool bartenders.
