This was one of the best dinning experiences my wife and I have enjoyed. We were greeted by our chef John Wolfe, he shared his knowledge of Cascade with us and after our lovely meal a tour of the Cascade Lodge.
This is not a restaurant or your typical chain restaurant, this is what I consider your country club elegant fine dining.
So some of the reviews are skewed, I think that these negative reviews are not what a refined, cultured dinner would expect from Cascade Lodge.
The view is beautiful and I am sure when the leaves change colors this make the whole experience breath taking.
What my wife and I took away from our meal here is how rich we felt by enjoying the meal and each others company while sitting back and enjoying the view of horses grazing on the hill while the sun was setting. You can not put a price on that.
Please do yourself a favor and experience this wonderful gem.
My wife enjoyed the Rib Eye steak and I the Lobster Tail. Â The dinner was served with fresh hot dinner rolls, a fresh salad. I enjoyed my lobster with Stella Atrois beer. After dinner we had the Chocolate tort and I the Irish Coffee. We had a groupon certificate that took $60 off our meal, so our bill was cheaper then if I ate at TGI Fridays.
The best part is we went on a Wednesday evening and we had the whole place to ourselves. I feel part of that is due to the economy at the time of this review. This place has so much history that if the walls could talk...
Please dress up take your wife or significant other to the Cascade Lodge, you will enjoy all of its beauty and charm with the warm freindly service I promise it's worth it.
Had a Groupon that was to expire today, so we went. Â Probably were better off losing the $. Â The place is in a nice quiet area of rolling hills. Â The restaurant is big w/ two wings, but is old looking. Â There were only 3 other couples there (I think the same as us, w/ expiring Groupons). Â The Handicapped entry (for me - car accident) was thru the kitchen, um OK. Â The ceilings had the wooden beam look going, there was a large wood burning stove in the middle of the dining room we were in & it was very humid in there too. Â They had two ceiling fans going (one by us was going in reverse).
I believe the place is run by a brother & sister & they don't seem to get along and both a bit creepy. Â We were reminded of the Overlook Hotel (see The Shining). Â The exterior is dirty & moldy.
We split, a made at the table, caesar salad, was good.
I had a Delmonico steak special was ok.  Wife had a salmon & shrimp  which she didn't like (probably was old).
Bottom line they need to sell this place to someone who will invest close to a million to renovate this place as the location & size has a lot of potential.
Went here over the holidays, we were the only group seated in the entire restaurant, which was dark and spooky (Thinking of: The Shining). Luckily we were a large, merry group. Taking a walk down to see the trout stream is even scarier. The secluded location probably adds to that. That said, the wait staff was very attendant to us and the food was amazing. I had the duck in a pecan glaze which was simply astounding. It was cooked perfectly and I received just about the entire duck for my portion size. I would say this is a hidden gem, the chef will send out meals you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in the Valley.
