The pizza is not as good as those who give it 5 stars say it is. The crust is frozen, not fresh, if it was I'd give it 4 stars. The sauce is good and the toppings are great, it's just not a true homemade pizza when the crust came out of a box. Same for their cheesy bread...it's Bosco sticks they bake and then cut up in a pile on a plate; yes, they're delicious, but they're not homemade.

Their other menu items are good, but nothing exceptional. It's good food, especially considering what little competition they have within about a 15 mile radius.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in a small town. I was alone and didn't want to go to Subway down the street in a gas station. This place was great. I had a grilled cheese and tomato soup that was the best of either I've have eaten in awhile. The tomato soup was well seasoned and wonderful, the grilled cheese on ciabatta bread was gooey wonderfulness. So good, I'm making up words. I will be back if I am ever in Homer, MI again. Thanks to a friend JBK for recommending this place.

Definitely worth a stop if you're traveling M-60 through Homer.  Cascarelli's is about one block south of the highway, and has been there since I can remember.  The restaurant is cozy and has a great small-town hangout feel.  Start with a bowl of freshly roasted redskin peanuts and one of the Michigan microbrews they always have on tap.  I had a Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA from Marshall, MI - cold and refreshing.

On the night of my visit (11/10/12) we ordered a large pizza with bacon and pineapple.  It came with a satisfying layer of cheese and generous toppings, but the crust - normally light and crispy - was soggy in spots.  The service was fair - our server was friendly, but not very available, and she never stopped back to ask if we wanted another round of beer.  On previous visits both the pizza and service were better, so maybe it was just an off night.  Still, a good meal at a reasonable price.

On the way out, grab a glass canister of redskins to go - they're the best I've had anywhere.

What Happened to this place? Went there a couple of weeks ago and it was a bad experience. The only thing that got them 2 stars was an excellent selection of craft beer. However the pizza and service left much to be desired.

I have been going here since I was a kid and have always had great memories, however the last couple of visits really opened my eyes about the place. The pizza was mediocre at best and service and wait was horrible. The waitstaff was great but the kitchen couldn't keep up. They let take out orders have priority over people dinning in.

Hopefully they can improve their quality and service back to the days of old. If not I will stick with Dark Horse in Marshall for Craft Brew and much better pizza.

This has always had the best pizza in the area, but not anymore. We had our sons in from Chicago and they wanted to go their for old times sake. We waited over two hours for a pizza wiht burned crust. The waitress said it was because they had too many take out orders which they seem to prioritize over their restaurant customers.

The pizza has changed, gone is the sprinkling of oregano and a firm cheese replaced by a kind of greasy cheese. If you truly want the best pizza in the area, try Darkhorse in Marshall and better beer to boot.

Best pizza and beer on the long, lonely drive from Chicago to Detroit.

If you want great pizza and THE BEST draft craft beer selection around, this is the place! I grew up in Homer and moved away after high school. I've lived in many cities and many states and there are not many pizza's this good. Don't just jump into the pizza, warm up your taste buds with Annie's bread! So good!

As for beer, lets just say I look forward to coming home and seeing what's on tap. It's normally some of the better locals, but Lindemans framboise is also a staple. Looking for something new after dinner, try a dark forest!

Awesome only begins to describe the food, ambiance, and staff.  Pizza is great, draft beer selection is abundant, and appetizers are tasty.

What are you doing reading this review?  Shut the computer down and head there NOW!  The food is waiting to be eaten!

We didn't get any salads, but there was a great selection.  We ordered two pizzas to go, the daily blackboard special and another speciality pizza.  We sat at the bar and drank a cold one, ate  Annie's Bread and cashews while we waited.  Oh yea, the apps were money, too!  Washed the appetizers down with 4 different Michigan micro brews.

Staff was friendly - Becky the bartender rocks!

NOTE:  They only serve pizza and salads on weekends. during the week one can get sandwiches, and pizza.

Absolutely delicious. Went there with 3 of my relatives for dinner on a Wednesday night. It was not crowded but there were a lot of people. I was impressed by the menu selection and surprised by all the different types of craft beer they sold. The pizza was loaded with toppings and overflowing with cheese. The appetizers and pizza were served piping hot and the wait for food was very short. When I  am back in Michigan I plan on coming back. Well worth the drive.

In the middle of no where craft beer bar / pizzeria works out well for me because my wives family lives in Homer, and this is the regular for us when we go out to eat there. A nice tap list, Bells, Founders, Dark Horse etc, the pizza is decent, tough scale coming from a NY'er. The home made nuts are a nice addition that I don't see often. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area, especially if you are looking for some craft beer on tap, I don't think there is another option for quite a distance. Free wifi is a bonus with 3g no where in the area

Simply some of the best pizza I've ever had, from Denver to Chicago to Washington. I don't know what it is, but for some reason this place in in little Homer, no where near anything, regularly serves up winners comparable to the best big-town pizzerias. The environment is open, a touch homely but pleasant, with plenty of room for groups, bar space, and more intimate nooks. Service is small town--quick, friendly, and sincere.

Pizza is king here, especially their specialty pizzas. I'm partial to "Fifi's Favorite," don't know who Fifi is but her onion, sausage, and spicy red pepper combo is the definition of deliciousness. Everything they make is good, but people come for the pizza, not the salads or lasagna. Appetizers are strong, Annie' Bread is a buttery pile of goodness, although the marinara sauce falls flat.

To finish the Cascarelli experience off, take advantage of the well-supplied beer list. 20 craft and specialty beers on tap, many from Michigan and all delicious.

Absolutely the best pizza in the world.  I live in Chicago and eat all kinds of great pizza but this is the best.  Their garbage pizza is my all time favorite.  Jacked full of amazingness.  Every time I go (and I go every time I'm in Homer) I bring a large home with me.  My grandmother even sends me their pizza for my birthday.  Best present I get hands down.

Play it safe with pepperoni, or lose your soul (I have, and it was worth it) to Mikie's Favorite.

If Cascarelli's were in a major metropolis, it would have a yelp review list of several hundred. Sadly (or not), it is in the middle of nowhere. Having lived in both Chicago and now Los Angeles, it goes without saying that Cascarelli's take on the pizza pie easily outstrips far more popular and notable joints. Order anything (even a salad, which might be morally reprehensible at Cascarelli's, but I digress), and you are guaranteed to be transported to culinary nirvana.

Excellent tap list, for the ethanol-inclined.

Visited Cascarelli's while in Michigan to see the family. The small town of Homer, as well as the restaurant, has appeal and charm.

We ordered some basic cheesesticks and marinara sauce- "Annie's Bread" - a solid appetizer option. The marinara was excellent, by the way, which is always key in my opinion.

We followed up with a classic pepperoni pizza and supreme pizza. The pizza came cut in squares, and was extremely cheesy, yet good.

If I lived anywhere near Cascarelli's, I would be going back to try some of the speciality pizzas. They sounded delicious! Particularly the "Chicken Chili", "Teja", "Homer", "Baby's Chicken Pie",... the list goes on and on. Nice list of drink specials, also.

Want a great pizza and not afraid to drive? Go to Cascarelli's in Homer, Michigan. Homer is a small town not close to anything, but it's worth the drive just for Cascarelli's.

Pizza is think crust and crunchy, with loads of good combos or create your own.  Wine list is short but surprisingly good, Beer selection is great with lots of taps.

Atmosphere is best described as a tavern. The place is local favorite but has a reputation that extends well beyond Homer's city limits. It's well over a 60 minute drive for us.

We have some favorite pizza joints in west Michigan and Chicago-land, and this sis one of them.  drive. eat. enjoy.
