One Star! That's right only one star from me.
The Good: Fried oysters.
The Bad: Hush puppies taste like funnel cake mix, very bland. The slaw tasted like it was made with spoiled, or butter milk. The shrimp were like something out of a box in the frozen seafood section of your local supermarket. The fries wasn't that good. It was just an awful first impression for me. I stopped by because the place in always flooded with cars, so I figured something has to be great about the place, guess I was wrong. The one star is for the sweet tea, and the curb side service/ drive-thru. Captain Steve's in Fort Mill is 300% better from all aspects, The Mayflower in Rock Hill, SC, and Chester's Cove in Chester, SC has to be 200% better than this joint. The first and last dime all in one trip.
I am an iron stomach kind of guy but this place is truly a disrespect to fried fish. Â I have also gotten sick here twice but I will admit my other 8 or 9 co workers have not. Â This place is known for being really busy and people must think its pretty good. Â Well, as a true foodie they are wrong. Â There is nothing here worth eating here, just skip it.
Review Source:Gross. How they do so great is beyond me!! I've eaten here 2 times in the 14 years Ihave lived here & both times it made me sick to my stomach. on the 2nd visit -Watching the guy in the back pop hush puppies off the line in his mouth also didn't improve my taste for the place.
People who think this is great seafood need to travel more! You live in a coastal state! This is NOT good seafood- i grew up near charleston where you can go get shrimp right off the boat still alive!
JUST PLAIN GROSS- yuck
