This was the worst bar I've ever been to. Â After spending a few hundred dollars upstairs, I moved downstairs to have cocktails. Â Because the bartender didn't like the conversation my friends and I were having they refused to serve us. Â The place was low budget and clearly doesn't understand how to accommodate their guests. Â There are plenty of other places in the area and I will have to seek them out because their is no way I'm going back to this bar. Â STAY AWAY they spit in our food and farted in our drinks.
Review Source:Safe menu with food that is smothered in sauces and cheese to hide the food cooked underneath. menu has not been updated since at least 1990...
The food is chain oriented - large menu with many preparations of the same basic food groups. Â
For this caliber of restaurant and the price point - very good. Â Servers are friendly and are knowledgeable fo rthe most part. Â Although not familar with a certain vodka, the server was kind enough to bring over bar manager to help me with my selection.
For that - KUDOS!
One point of contention.... smokers in the entry porch is really not ideal.... I understand though - no real place to go with them.
Will return!
The Cat's Meow was pricey for the quality of food that we were served. Â I think this is a good place for drinks and apps. Â The ambiance was stellar, it was like being transported to the 20's, I loved it, made me want to smoke a long filtered cigarette and throw on some red lipstick. Â
To eat I had the crab cakes. Â They weren't that good, I only took a few bites. Â I looked around at what everyone else at my table ordered and it none of it looked appetizing.
I could see how this is the best place to eat in Manheim though. Â I think the other option was a subway.
This is a Manheim landmark and I've been coming here for years. This place consistently has great American food and cheap drinks. If you're from Manheim, you will definitely see at least one person you know when you go there. It's got the old 1930's-40's theme without being cheesy. There's a nice porch and nice bar area. Over all good place to go for lunch or dinner or just drinks.
Review Source:I was back East for work doing training about half a block away from the Cat's Meow. When I first heard about it, I wasn't  sure what to except from eating there. This is a really old cool building with a ton of History attached to  it.
The staff was really friendly and great service back there. They greet you then seat you really fast. One thing I liked about this place is the selection of food they offer you on the menu. Even the daily specials you can have. I ate there 3 days in a row for lunch. Really enjoyed the soup that you can get normally any day. I had a burger one day, chicken another, and some kind french dip the last. All were really good I must say.
Check this place out if you're ever in the area. Lunch time gets pretty busy as well when I was there. But a ton of room for people, so you shouldn't have a problem.
I have only very positive things to say about The Cat's Meow. Staff, management, atmosphere and, most importantly, the kickass menu! It's a long story but basically they took awesome care of us. Considering we showed up with at least 30 ppl after our soccer tournament down the road, they quickly accommodated us without missing a beat. Service was fast, food was great! Their fries are homemade and delicious. The pretzel bread sandwich is not to be missed..piled high and filing. Salads and soups delicious. The IPA, Hopfish recommended by our waiter hit the spot. We came with a large group and everyone left satisfied and eager to return for next years tournament.
Review Source:The Cat's Meow is an excellent place to eat. Â Good food. Â Lively atmosphere. Â Good mix of patrons. Â Bar area and dining area. Â Big screen TV in the bar area. Â Two outside eating levels (ground level and restaurant level). Â Seating in the dining area is a little tight.
Try the Steak Scampi. Â It's kind of a rare dish but Cat's Meow does a great job with it. Â If you can't decide between steak and seafood, this is the perfect dish where you can have both. Â My wife loves the shrimp and steak tips, which are also very good.
It's a very good mix. Â The kind of place you can take children to, or a good place for just you and the wife, or if you want to hang with your buddies at the bar.
