My wife and I met another family member in Cuba for lunch, we decided to try this place out. Â The woman that owns / runs it is retired (hence the m-f no weekend hours). Â In doing so the food and service we got were like the 'good old days'. Â The pizza is a thick crust and is loaded with toppings and was delicious. Â I marked this as a 5 star because of all the years I've been meeting family in Cuba for lunch this was by far and away the best spot we've stopped. Â We met shortly after 1pm and it was quiet, we were able to have a great chat. Â If you're traveling and happen by I would recommend.
Update 6/13/13: Â Dropped in again for a late lunch, got excellent service we were dropping a serger off for my mom, we had the usual great lunch in a quiet cool dining area. Â The owner ended up coming out and visiting with my mom after she let us plug the serger in and test it. Â Was a real home town experience. Â All the food is made from scratch and the hometown feeling exists here.
This is a typical mediocre, bland Cuba restaurant. The pizza is pretty doughy and lacks flavor and the cheese is not of a particularly high quality. The hours are kind of goofy and I have yet to master them. Alas, it is pizza in this depressing town.
They do have two arcade machines in the restaurant- Double Dragon (with malfunctioning buttons) and Mortal Kombat 3 in a MK2 shell (which means there is no run button and you can't do combos). How typical.
