Chappy's

Dark, hot by the grill, and smoky.  Incompetent, frazzled waitstaff.  But if you want a COLD, CHEAP beer on draft this is the place.

This marked the second time I've been to Westcliffe, and I'm not entirely sure if this place was open when we were there the first time we went back in '06 or '07.  The first night (a Thursday night) myself and one of the guys I travel with went there and it was kind of dull and the waitress was kind of dry, but I can look over that fairly easily.  I wasn't sure if they were serving food or not as it was fairly late, so we both just had a beer and retired for the night.

The next night we went back with another one of the guys we travel with and ran into some friends that were also in town the same weekend (we were all there playing the bluegrass festival that weekend), and it was considerably busier.  This was a considerably different experience!  Karaoke, an active, and very friendly wait staff, and an all around good time was had.  I typically don't get into karaoke either, but it was a lot of fun.  We still didn't get to try any of their food though.

The next day we took our whole band and went back during the day when we knew they'd be serving food to try some of their burgers.  I forget exactly which one I had but it was delicious!  Everyone else seemed to like theirs as well.  I hope we get the opportunity to go back some day, because it is a nice town, and this is a nice place!  Go check it out if you get the chance!
