Charley's Grilled Subs

I do alot of driving for work and Edwards Air Force Base was one of my stops today.  While waiting for my ride to transport me, I decided to try Charley's for lunch.  Some of the prices were a bit expensive and it costs extra to change your sandwich into a wrap.  I ordered the philly cheese and changed it into a wrap as to watch my bread intake.  The service was good and I did not have to wait long for my food to get done.  However, when trying to get a drink, I was disappointed to see that the drink machine was not working,  You had to walk to the other end of the food court in order to get your drink.  This was a bit of a pain because I was eating alone, so I had to take my tray with me :/.  I would have given them a higher rating but I was not happy with exposing my food to the entire mall just so I wouldn't have to be thristy.

Charlye's is located at the far end of the Exchange, after entering turn right and go to the end where you enter a small alcove which kind of separates it from the rest of the food court. There is even a separate seating area here with room for about 36 patrons, it's a little quieter here than in the main food court area.

I ordered one of the specials, Chicken Philly Sub with Fries. I also ordered a small drink. I was given my receipt and a cup. I took my cup to the dispenser and tried to get some ice but only a few cubes dropped and that was it, the drink I wanted was only dispensing water so I headed to the other dispenser located in the main food court and filled my cup with ice and beverage there.

When I returned my fries were ready and were handed to me in a cup, they were thick cut with the skins on the ends just the way I like them. My sandwich was ready a minute later. Lunch in hand I headed for the tables and took a seat.

The sandwich was good, the bread tasted fresh and the chicken was tender. The fries were very good, thick cut and served hot in a cup. I felt that the sandwich would have benefited from a little more flavor and I would have liked more bread choices but that is just my personal preference.

I would like to add the the service was good and the staff friendly. The seating area was clean.
