The wife and I were in Simpsonville to see the Black Keys and they were playing here along with the Flaming Lips. Unfortunately, it was monsoon season and while it didn't rain during the concert, we had been drenched earlier in the evening. The amphitheater itself is a great site, despite the ground being saturated and muddy in some areas. They were expecting a big crowd and I'm not sure id the weather kept people away, but there was plenty of room to walk around and lots of vendors selling food and beer.

Parking is plentiful as well, and $5 was the cost on this evening. The only negative was the entry, which was somewhat chaotic. Furthermore, the process for people with paperless tickets could have been more clear.
We finally made it in for a great show by the Black Keys, which started late due to the weather anyway.

I look forward to a smoother and drier visit for Mumford and Sons in September.

What a s**tshow. Went here last Friday for the Black Keys concert, and they were not prepared for a sold out crowd. Getting in and parking was fine, but the line to get into the theater was a mile long. It seemed like most people didn't even get inside in time to see the opener. The line completely fell apart at the gate due to the lack of organization, and there was just a cluster of 10,000 people trying to squeeze through 4 gates. Most tickets weren't even checked, as people were shoving their way inside around the people who were supposed to be checking tickets. After the concert, the disorganization and lack of infrastructure/event staff once again led to a logistical nightmare. We pulled out of our parking space, then were unable to move for an hour. It ended up taking us about 2 hours just to get out of the parking lot. There were only 2 people directing traffic and they were not helping the situation. The owners of this place really need to rethink selling it out in the future, since they are clearly unequipped to handle such situations.

Last night I checked out a music tour that came through Charter Amphitheater. I was pleasantly surprised just by the vast amount of space in the park, much less the size of the actual amphitheater. There's plenty of parking, thanks to a large field. However, be warned, you do have to pay to park: $5.  There's plenty of staff presence guiding you along the long drive in, as well as inside the amphitheater.

Vendors are set up from local eating establishments & there is a "Summer Patio", however, it only serves alcoholic beverages. And naturally, get ready to pay the price to eat or drink. Sodas & bottled water alone are $4 a pop.

The sound system is fantastic! Unfortunately, when you're in the lawn area, you can't really see the music acts that well & there aren't any TV screens nearby to help you out.

Also, they don't allow you to bring those camp type pop up chairs or any type chair that's high off the ground (for lawn seating).

Overall, this is a nice place to catch a show!
