My husband and I came on a Saturday night and boy was it busy so we sat at the bar, the bartender was sweet and very accommodating. She recommended the "buffalo bleu burger" and we got garlic fries with it. Best. Burger. Ever. At the end of our meal we didn't want to leave, with the great beer, food, music and sports we were so comfortable. We will be back very soon to visit our new friend Chelsea.
Review Source:Is there any other place in Hollister that's like this?.......
Probably not. Whenever I'm in town I'll be sure to always come in for a few drinks at this pub. Awesome food and service. We come in after a long 8 hour drive from San Diego just in time for Happy Hour and order a bucket of BBQ Wings, Nachos, Garlic Fries, and a pitcher of Bud Light. Waitress always made sure we were topped off and had the wings steady as we caught up with the latest news with the family. Good eats and good times.
I shall see you again Cheap Seats...........
Verdict: The Cheap Seats name says it all. Thumbs up.
We arrived for lunch today. Â Being out of town, my a family member suggested we go here and grab a bite to eat. Â The business is great, don't get me wrong. Â Perfect atmosphere, great set-up, and tv's everywhere.
The server, however, was a jerk. Â It seemed like he was in a rush to get back to the bar area and do absolutely nothing. Â There were two other customers in their at the same time as us, yet I felt that he wanted us to sit, order, eat, and leave. Â I ordered a burger. Â It tasted great. Â Not enough fries, oh well.
My two family members ordered the steak sandwich and garlic fries. Â Not bad. Â Pretty good actually.
My girlfriend ordered two corndogs and fries. Â When they came out, she took one bite of the warm battered corn dog and the inside was as cold as my beer. Â I had to take it back to the server and tell him what was up. Â 20 minutes later, after everyone else was done with our food, her food came out. Â She didn't want it anymore, but we didn't want to be rude to our family members who recommended this place.
I had high hopes walking in, but I wouldn't return when back in town.
WE took our family here and waited an hour and a half for our food. Only 3 out of the 5 dinners were served, waited another 20 minutes for the rest of our food , for it to be delivered to our table completely burned when we talked to our waitress [which was the owner] she said eww I wouldn't eat that, AND TOOK THE PLATES BACK . WE THEN WAITED ANOTHER 20 MINUTES FOR THE FOOD WHICH WAS AWFUL. after spending  over a hundred dollars on this place, we will never go back. and WE LIVE IN HOLLISTER. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT
Review Source:This review is for their Al Pastor Taco's only.. I didn't try anything else.. so I can't comment of anything else... Well their fries... they were steak fries (the thick ones).. which were okay.
But the Al Pastor? I believe its supposed to be pork marinated with pineapple or something right? What came out... was tortilla.. and I have no idea what. The meat was darken (brown).. not to a color that you would expect pork to be.. so I'm assuming what they gave me was beef. Â It was basically some shredded beef...
I don't know if they just made a mistake.. or if they were out.. and just gave me whatever they had... but I really wish it they would have said something instead of giving it to me as if I couldn't tell the difference..... :(
Been to a lot of sports bars around the country and for a small town this is about as good as it gets. Good service and prices, and friendly environment. Big plus is they put sound on during games. Been to a lot of large chain sports bars that refuse to put sound on, not how they can call themselves sports bars.
Review Source:Atmosphere is great, never anything untoward. Once or twice I wish I'd pre-ordered my lunch to save time, but they were very apologetic and gave us some kind of credit or comp.
The double bacon cheeseburger is a mission every carnivore must attempt, while it may have shrunk just a little since it's early days I'm still almost always sorry I ordered it about half way through. Too good not to finish! Steak fries have been getting better of late after a brief period of sogginess. Best wings in town!
Have been here a couple of times and food was pretty good (Hamburgers won't disappoint). nice, clean place, I guess you can say it's family friendly (not your Daddy's watering hole). Service is very good, you won't be let down. Lots of TV's so I'm sure your favorite team will be showing.
Review Source:My in-laws had just moved to Hollister and we were in town to check out their new digs; the family was starving so we headed over to Cheap Seats based solely on the positive reviews on Yelp. This place did not disappoint!
The vibe was laid back and positive, the restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly, and best of all our large family was easily and happily accommodated. The food was fantastic: thick cut fries, perfect onion rings, large but manageable portions. The parents had tri-tip sandwiches that they raved about, my husband had a delicious chicken breast sandwich and I had a bleu-cheese burger that was both well-done and juicy - not an easy feat!
We will most definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone (with or without their family) looking for great food in Hollister!
You probably can't find anything like this anywhere else in Hollister.
It's literally as it says: cheap!
Some people dig it, other people don't. But when the waiter brought me my ginormous BBQ Burger with ample supply of thick cut fries--I was sold! Washed down with a tasty Blue Moon. Perfect Sunday Dinner! :)
Despite the sale of liquor, it surprisingly had a positive family vibe. I've been here about seven times and each time I see a family with kids. And I don't ever recall seeing any of the patrons get totally smashed or cause a big scene. You'll get the occasional unison reaction to any of the games on the flat screens. Always fun to people watch the dedicated sports fan!!!
This may be one of the best sport bars in the area, though their alcohol selection is limited to wine and beer, a good selection of beers.
For pub food, Cheap Seats is well above average--their hamburgers are stacked high and reasonably priced. Â I have gone for their chili dog a few times. Â And, with your sandwich, Â they give you a choice of good fries or exceptional onion rings. Â Frankly, I usually choose the onion rings.
This is one of those places  you love to go to on a football Sunday: loads of TVs, good beer, very good food, and friendly service at, what I consider, very reasonable prices.
I am not really impressed with many places in Hollister, which is sad because I live here. It's really a shame to have to leave town for just about everything.
As far as Cheap Seats is concerned, I must say I was pretty impressed. I mean, it's obviously not a fancy restaurant, but it is a decently priced place to get a burger and a beer. Pitchers are $8 and $10. The price is contingent on whether or not you enjoy drinking piss. They have a decent selection of beer for a small place in Hollister. Unfortunately, there's nothing here that you can't find at any liquor store.
I'm not really a die-hard sports watcher, but still admired the numerous flat-screen television sets that were on every wall. My only complaint about this place is I wish it was a little bigger (but I'm just being picky).
The food menu doesn't offer a whole lot, but that is to be expected at a place like this. Also, it seems moderately priced. I payed $8 for a cheeseburger that I could hardly finish (too big, not complaining) and big-cut fries.
It took a while to get our food, but our beer came almost immediately. I saw that they only had one member of kitchen staff working on this particular night. Our server was attentive and polite.
It's not fine dining by any means....But for a sports bar the food was very good!
I had the tri-tip sandwich with onion rings. Â The meat was tender, bread fresh, onion rings crispy. Â Everyone at my table enjoyed there meals as much as I did. So overall it was a very good meal.
The only complaint I had was that the service was rather slow. Â It didn't come as a surprise though. Â The waitress told us as soon as we came in that the other waitress had been sent home earlier. She apologized and said it would be a bit slow but she was doing her best to get to everyone...that girl was working her butt off so props to her.
I would go back again....and that's saying a lot for a Hollister restaurant!
Went here for lunch and got a bacon double cheeseburger with some onion rings.
It was huge. And the bacon was real thick cut. Onion rings were good too with some ranch.
They have some good beers on tap like Guiness, Bass, and Blue Moon.
The bartender was nice and the service was quick.
When I got my pint of Blue Moon she knew to put a slice of orange on top which was great as well.
The burger was 9.50
Domestic Beer is 2.50 pint.
Imported (good beer) is 4.00 a pint.
I'll be back to try out some more of the food I've been heartbroken ever since the San Andreas Brewery shut down a few years back.
