Look, I love that Dave Cherry has made this THE place to hang. Smoke free, super friendly service, sports on TV, live music, Nevada history all over the place...but the menu sucks.
The original has been marked through with so much Sharpie it looks like a redacted government document. They've lost half of the food items that they served when I visited the first time. What's left is the frozen in a bag version of jalapeno poppers and fried foods.
If you are gonna cut back on your food items that's fine. But get new menus so it doesn't look like your food business is suffering and make something besides the BLT from scratch. It had such promise and folks from out of town who came home bragged on it. "Nevada finally has a smoke free place for drinks and some decent food!"
Other than that, this place rocks. Cheap drinks, super friendly folks...almost over accommodating...smoke free, large enough for reunions and small enough for dinner with a date. Plenty of parking too.
I have been to many sports bars, restaurants, pubs, you name it, all over the country, but I have NEVER experienced a friendlier, more welcoming atmosphere than Cherry's. Dave, the owner, goes above and beyond to make you feel like not so much like a customer, but an old friend. Add good food and great service to the atmosphere and you have a winning formula for the best sports bar that you will want to return to again and again!
Review Source:Cherry's is a great establishment. Â If you are familiar with the building, you may remember it as "Subway Bar" or "AmVets" but it is nothing like the way it used to be. Â Gone are the days of the dark, smoke-filled bar. Â It is still a bar, but now it is a sports bar/restaurant. Â Don't worry, smokers, there is still a smoking area but it is separate from the main sports bar.
Cherry's is definitely a legit sports bar. Â There are plenty of screens and I've been able to watch any game that I have requested. Â The night we met some friends for dinner also happened to be the evening of the Thursday night NFL game of the Chiefs vs. the Eagles. Â There were many people in to enjoy the game. Â People were excited and the atmosphere was great.
The food is better than many sports bars that I have been to. Â The onion blossom is one of my favorite appetizers. Â I also enjoy the patty melt, but there is more to the menu than burgers and fries if that is not your thing.
If you are looking for a great place to watch a game, this is it. Â The owner, David Cherry, is always very welcoming and appreciates all of the patrons who come in. Â He always makes sure that everything is just right and does a great job!
