The Chicago Bay Marketplace-Bakery-Deli

We recently went up North to Grand Marais so we could relax and I could do some writing. While there my Aunt who has a vacation home in  Canada suggested that we meed halfway at the Chicago Bay Marketplace. We are all Glad we did.

They are a true gem of the North Woods. They have high end organic foods, fresh made bread and pizza for which they mill their own flour that they grind fresh daily.

its the kind of local meeting place you need if you live in the north woods. Its very unassuming when you first drive by. There had been a store there for many years but the quality had thrived under the current owner.

We had the pizza and it was some of the best I have had anywhere. If you are in Grand Marais you need to go another 18 miles north and try them out.

They have Free Wifi, board games and nice music playing all the time. Even if you don't need a meal it's a cool place to stop and check out all of the specialty health foods you can't find many places on the north shore.
