Actually came back because a friend said give it a second chance. Mistake. Ordered a beer, bartender walked away served other then came back and asked for my order again. I was a bit annoyed bit said, simply, "two lone stars." Â She got mad and said, " you are not my only customer. ". Rude.
Review Source:Definitely a cool bar.  Not sure if this would be a dive bar or what, but you can hitch your horse to the front of the bar, and beers were only 3 bucks.  The live music wasn't quite on tune, but I loved the atmosphere.  It was also nice to  have a cigar here - it's SO hard to find a bar that allows smoking back home in Commiefornia.
I also really liked the table service. Â I'll definitely be coming back here for the beer, atmosphere and live music.
This is not a review on the food, since they had just closed the kitchen early after we arrived, starving and ready to chow down after a camping trip at Lost Maples.
BUT! The woman working was super nice, encouraged us to help ourselves to the free chili dog buffet, apologized profusely (the cook was being sent home early after a really busy Thanksgiving weekend), highly recommended a local restaurant, and was just generally the sweetest thing ever. She also taught me what a Dos Equis "dressed" is (lime in the salt-coated bottleneck!). Â Ya learn something new every day!
I love the feel of the place-- all wood interior, very open and inviting from the road, and half the clientele in cowboy hats. Â A band was playing despite it being a very slow Sunday night, and the bandleader came over to chat with us afterward.
I will totally be back to this small town dive bar next time I'm passin' through Bandera.
