My boyfriend and I are here in Sierraville to visit the Sierra Hot Spring, and this morning were looking for breakfast. Â The other cafe across the street had a closed sign in the window, so we sauntered across the street to the Chuckwagon Cafe, and we were not disappointed.
Western decor, including branding irons, sample brands emblazoned on various things like the menu holders, etc., and a real small town feel were fantastic. Â The waitress is a 5th grade teacher who moonlights during the summer, and was just as friendly as could be.
We both ordered custom omelets, and I also ordered a small order of French toast. Â We got coffee, and an orange juice. Â All for $31 plus tip.
The coffee and juice came out first, and the coffee, from a local roaster, was terrific, strong and not too bitter. Â The orange juice was a bit too bitter, though.
The omelets were fantastic! Â light and fluffy, with perfect veggie fillings, and covered with a generous amount of cheese. Â A perfect way to start the morning of soaking in the hot springs and exploring the mountain towns nearby. Â I loved the French toast, too.
