Great find. Delicious food, attentive service and congenial Owner. While traveling in western Ill wem took a small detour off i88. Well worth it. A rejuvenating and delightful experience for tiring and hungry travelers. Not to miss: the fried Mac and cheese (kids size) coconut pie and homemade soup. We did split pea and were thrilled. Cindy Jean, who cooks seven days a week, will make a table call to discuss food, community and more. Stay tuned for our review of the chicken pot pie to go.
Review Source:Cindy Jean's is the best place in Prophetstown. Â They have great food, but it is a tad pricey. They have a large menu to fit many tastes. Â Burgers and sandwiches are great. They also have wonderful homemade soups. My husband loves the chicken and dumpling soup. I'm a fan of the the hot Cajun potato salad.
