I love this pizza. Perhaps because I have such fond memories of growing up in the 1980s when a video arcade was really special. The pizza is pretty flavorful, thin crust. The inside of the restaurant has started to go to seed and could use some new carpeting if not a total update. I was however, fairly annoyed that the take out prices on the web site were not correct and I was charged more when I arrived to get a to go pizza.

I have been going to The Clover Bar for pizza for at least 30 years. My step-father grew up on the same side of town, and I would ride my bike there every Friday night in the summer to play video games, and pinball, and have pizza with my parents and grand parents. The 'za is the same today and I have cravings for it every couple months.  It can be a long wait, its not always perfect ( last time we ordered we got olives by mistake. Mom said "meh", and we ate it anyways! ). I like Fricano's but for me The Clover Bar is the only pizza I crave in Grand Haven. Owners are awesome and remember me everytime I come in!

I remembered that they had good pizza from when I used to live here so wanted to go back during my recent stay in Grand Haven.  The place was busy but not full and no wait for a table.  We order drinks which seem to take a while to get and then we realized that there was one waitress for the whole room.  We order a pizza to eat there and a pizza to take with us.  After about 40 minutes, we got a pizza, it wasn't the one we ordered. The waitress said she delivered it to the wrong table.  I figured ours would be ready then but we waited again for quite a while until we got what we had ordered.  It was delicious, like I remembered but at that point I was hungry enough to eat the table and find it delicious.  We had another wait for our to go pizza and then our bill.  What could have been a pleasant reminder of the good old days took close to 21/2 hours and will probably be my last time there.

if you're in the mood for pizza, I suppose this is the place to go if you're prepared to wait a VERY long time and pay way too much.

My husband and I waited for a half hour to order a "antipasto" salad, which consisted of watery, soggy iceberg lettuce, 3 pieces of pepperoni, a handful of canned mushrooms, and pizza cheese.  Basically a "pizza topping salad,"  Cost? $9.00.

Husband ordered an italian sausage sub.  Again, pizza toppings.

We will absolutely not frequent this establishment again.

If your thinking this is like Chicago pizza, its not.  The mushrooms are canned and you can tell.  The cheese is good, the sauce is OK...its just that, OK.

The pizza looks better than it is. Bummer for the cost $24 for a large and $3 for each soda I had higher expectations. The service was not good either it was just us a few people at the bar and our waitress only came to check on us once after we ordered.

A great old-time pizza joint with some TVs, a bar, and a small game room for the kids. Nothing flashy. Just one of those places that reminds me of my childhood. Solid pizza, solid beer. I have to come here every time I'm in town!

Very good thin crust pizza.  There's something special and the sauce and the bird seed sprinkled on it.  The deluxe is a must for meat eaters.  The veggie pizzas are very as well.  There is a small game room for the kids.  Our family has been going to this place for decades. The pizza is 1000 times better than Fricano's.

I was born in Grand Haven & grew up going to Clover after my Dad's softball games with the team & it is still to this day my FAVORITE pizza ever!!!!  So tasty & great even cold the next day!  Thin crust with tons of toppings.  Mmm...making my mouth water as I write this!

Delicious. The only pizza I'll have in Grand Rapids.

It's the only place I ever get a "loaded pizza", everything on it.  Bit it is so good.  The wait can sometimes get a little rough but I think it's worth it.

    Meh.
Doesn't compare to the Congress in Ishpeming.

Unremarkable pizza, unremarkable place.  Pizza is not bad, not too greasy, but isn't that distinctive and isn't something I think I will ever crave.  Similarly, they have nice though unremarkable salads.  Pasta dishes too, but I've only eaten the pizza.  The interior is clean, comfortable, and well kept, but it lacks anything to give it any identity either--there are no windows at all so it feels somewhat like you are in a basement.  There is a nice little arcade area where kids can amuse themselves while you wait for your meal.  This is probably a fine place if you have kids, as it is clean and unobjectionable and service was nothing to complain about, but it's kind of a boring place to eat for adults.  I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could.

Pizza is decent, but not worth the long wait.  Restaurant was not busy when we arrived, and they must have only had one person working in the kitchen or something.   It took close to an hour to get our food after we ordered.  I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, especially if didn't have 2 hours to kill.

My in-laws live near this bar/restaurant, so I end up going to Clover Bar two-three times a year.  I love it.  Why... I don't know why.  Actually I know why.  They use some secret habit-forming cheese.  I've narrowed it down to the cheese.  The 'za is tasty, a wee bit salty, and always served roof-of-mouth searing hot.  It's the best thin crust pizza I have had outside of my fave, east coast style pizza.
