I really like this place -- every time you come in, someone greets you with a friendly hello! I am in love with the monterray chicken sandwich, but I also tasted the fish and chips and loved it! My dad ordered the special, which was a smothered steak, and he liked it a lot. College Street Pub is a quaint, friendly, family-owned and -run spot in The Hatch. Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly service. Check it out!

The fish and chips are near perfect and the raspberry and cream cheese appetizer was very impressive. However, I have ordered other food there that was shockingly inedible and extremely overpriced. Once I got a pork stew and there was no pork in it at all, besides the broth I guess. Also ordered a "hand-cut" steak which I can easily do better than simply purchasing a steak from walmart.
Your future review will depend on what you order from this place.  lol

There isn't much in waxahachie but this place is really cool with its own little secret patio in the back. Its the coolest patio in waxahachie because its the only patio : )
Music on the weekends and the food is yummy.

Excellent little dive joint in the center of an old Texas town. Good beers, good apps, good service. Stop by here if you are ever in the area....but you probably won't be.

I sort of liked this place. It is a really small town so I have to give them props for having decent live music and a great Texas beer selection. Staff was friendly and so were the locals. It really is one of the only places in the area for music and beer. Give them a visit if you stay in the area.

The College Street Pub makes the trip to Waxahachie worth while! I travel the US for work and often have to suffer through mediocre food and disinterested service. The College Street Pub is a great change of pace. The food, service and personal attention are amazing.  If you are fortunate enough to  be there when the salmon salad is available don't hesitate. Calling it a salad is an understatement. It is a fresh wild salmon steak served on a bed of fresh greens. All of the food is fresh, delicious and innovative. Not to be missed if you are anywhere near Waxahachie.

We love The Pub, always been a favorite. Nice, clean, great ambiance and the owners and staff are super. This is also a VERY busy place in Waxahachie so be patient, but worth the wait. The "Frenchburger" is like NO other you have ever had and you wont find it anywhere else. Lots of imported beers, owners family is part from England so they have english menu items and beer. They have a outside "beer" garden that is really beautiful and have live music on certain nights. Want a really nice rememerable evening out go here.

A great watering hole just off the Square in Waxahachie. Better than expected bar food and a great selection of drafts. Wife had humongous chef salad. I had blue cheese burger with fries. Great tasting burger.  Beer served in appropriate glasses just like in Europe.  The place was packed due to the Texas Country Reporter festival but service was friendly and efficient.  Great pub atmosphere.  Most entrees under $10.  Public parking lot nearby.

For a small town, The Pub is a nice little local place to go.  On big city standards, the food is probably a 3 to 3.5.

We love sitting on the patio on a beautiful day!  The patio is small but oh so cozy.  One of the restaurants best attributes!!!  (Update: Patio was recently extended by 2 tables.)

    The staff is very friendly.

The burger was good but the meat fell a little short on flavor.  Overall, still a pretty good burger & filling.  Fries were golden & crunchy kind of the same style as Chicken Express.  The Coronation chicken salad sandwich is ok too.  It comes on a toasted hoagie bun.  The pasta on the side seems a bit small but I guess I don't need all the carbs.  I have actually gone a couple of times & gotten two different pastas.  Maybe the pasta just depends on what they make for the day?  One was far better than the other.  Now to only figure out when they prepare the one I prefer....on ingredients available, seasons, daily deal, different cook, or what?

The beer selection seemed to be pretty good.  I noticed they had St. Arnold's.

Overall, I will continue to eat here since I like to support local eateries!  Not to mention I like to enjoy a meal outside on the patio!  Not too many places in town have a comfy patio.  It is also good for those who want to visit a local hangout for a beer.

Visited CSP for the first time last night. Tried the "Joe's Famous French Burger". It was actually pretty good. Served on Texas toast with crisp bacon. The menu says 2 patties, however mine was 1 split in the middle where the grilled onions where inserted. The service was a little slow, but attentive. I would recommend this place if you find yourself in Waxahachie.

I'm surprised to not see more people comment about the patio.  I love going to the College Street Pub, but my main reason is the great patio that they have out back.  I went just recently with my mom and we had a great lunch on the patio.  I don't know if it's hands-down the best food I've ever had in my life but, really, how often do you have the best food you've ever had in your life?  The College Pub Sub was good and the soup (bean with bacon) hit the spot.  Highly recommend for a lunch spot when the weather is nice.

This pub is so cute and cozy. I don't know why I don't come in more often. It's definitely a locals only kind of place, because if you're not a local chances are you've probably never heard about it. It's a small place, but I would say it's one of Waxahachie's best kept secrets.

The food menu is what you would typically find in a pub, but with a bit of a southern twist, 'cause after all it is the south! You can find the usual burgers, chicken strips and fries, but they also serve some country favorites like fried corn fritters.

The beer selection all right. You'll find Shiner and the regular domestic brands but that's about it. One beer that took me by surprise was Pyramid Hef on tab. Yum!

College Street Pub's waitstaff is also friendly and helpful. The service is always great. Now that I'm writing this review I may stop by there later tonight.

Honestly, in a large city, the College Street Pub would draw a 3-star review at best. But considering its location (Waxahachie is just barely a step up from the sticks), the food might even be considered a bit edgy. But it's executed well.

The atmosphere is somewhere between a Texas dive bar and a dark, wood-paneled English pub. Perfect for what they're going for. I usually drop by in late afternoon, during Happy Hour. So it's usually not too crowded. It's a small space though, so I can imagine that it probably gets pretty packed during the bar rush or live music.

The Coronation Chicken Sandwich, which is purportedly in honor of QEII's coronation, is a lightly curried, creamy chicken salad on a hoagie bun. At first I was hesitant to try it, but I've since fallen in love. The curry is mild yet slightly exotic, and surprises you on the first bite. But as you continue into the sandwich, the flavors meld - layered, ethnic spices; fresh, tender chicken; and yeasty, sweet, chewy hoagie bun - into a whole that is much greater than the sum of its parts.

The other offerings are equally simple and delicious, as well as catering to a more American palate. My fiancé swears that the burgers are as good as any he's ever had. Fries, or chips as they call them, while "only" a side dish, are a great standard by which to measure a restaurant. College Street Pub's are golden and crispy on the outside, and delightfully soft and mealy on the inside. I can't wait to try the bangers and mash someday...if I could only get past the coronation chicken!

In a town sadly bereft of interesting restaurant menus (or people who would like to order from them), College Street Pub offers something a little off the beaten path, yet is forgivably-mainstream enough to appeal to less-adventurous palates. If you're in Waxahachie and hungry, I highly recommend this place for a casual experience and really good food.

Two words, "FRENCH BURGER". You will not be disappointed.

Daily specials are typically pretty good as well. When they have the Ribeye steak special...its a must get!

Waxahachie, TX exists within its own isolated bubble of lovable weirdness in the middle of some serious Nowhere. This, in my eyes, has granted the entire town an immunity than even Christ himself can't penetrate--and I may even try to kick his ass if he tried.

With that being said, if you happen to find yourself wandering around the nooks and crannies of Waxahachie's town square, stop in to the College Street Pub. Their beer selections are pretty damned impressive, and they even had the seasonal St. Arnold's Christmas Ale on tap.

Here's where it gets confusing: They're going for a "British-meets-Hillbilly" theme here, so prepare yourself for fried green tomatoes followed by fish and chips. Not that there's anything wrong with that, in fact the food is decent..It's just that the menu is not very cohesive, and is a little on the skimpy side as far as choices go--but definitely not in the way of portions.

The service is friendly, and even if not super-attentive, there is a real sincerity there. Another important note, is how shockingly clean the bathrooms here are. I never once doubted the cleanliness of the kitchen, and all around, this was just a cute little place that I'd be more than happy to return to.

My family and I were in town and decided to try this place out.  There were a total of six of us on Saturday night around 6 pm or so.  We were seated and the long wait started.  While waiting on a waitress to come by and get our drink order, a party of 3 came in, was seated, drink order taken and received before the waitress came over and took ours.  She took our drink order, dropped menus off and got our drink order while we decided what we wanted.  We ordered 2 appetizers and 6 entrees.   Four of which were their special of the night.  She took our order and left to go place it.  Approx. 30 minutes later we received one of the appetizers (cheese covered fries).  20 minutes later the other one (fried green beans) came out.  Of the six entrees, 2 were the steak dinner that had a side salad.  One of the salads were served at the time of the 2nd appetizer, the 2nd salad 30 minutes later.  At this point a time, we were told that there were only two cooks in the kitchen.  Fair enough, but you can't bring side salads out at the same time.  After finally waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes from being seated, the first entree came out.  A couple of minutes later, another one (one of the steak dinners which was ordered medium rare), leaving 4 entrees left of which one was a steak dinner RARE.  Shouldn't a rare steak be ready before a medium rare?  At least that's how steaks cook at my house.  Maybe their grill works different than mine.  Sorry, I am getting off topic.  FINALLY, all our entrees were served.  The waitress again apologized, but we were very frustrated at this point.  One of the members of our party got up to speak with the manager about the service and timely manner of which we received (or didn't receive) our food.  As she was telling him the events, he rolled his eyes at her and said he would look into it.  He never once came over to our table to apologize, offer a dessert, comp maybe one of the many drinks we had while we were waiting, NOTHING!!  We paid up and left.  The food was nothing special and while I know every eating establishment has an off night here and there, it's the manager's responsibility to make up for it or at least APOLOGIZE.  We will never be back and I will look for every food critic forum I can find to post this story.  Thanks for reading.

This place KICKS ASS. Friendly service, great food and a beer selection that would make anyone weep tears of joy. The type of establishment you wish was in your town, and if it is you wish it was even closer to home. Everything in the place just clicks together perfectly. So if you find yourself in Texas please stop by Waxahachie and say hello to the friendly folks at the College Street Pub you wont be sorry.

A little bit of Britain right here in Waxahachie.
The place is decorated perfectly to suit any Brit that wanders in.  It's actually better than most California wannabe's.  The service is better as well.
We sat at a table by the window, thank Buddha,  while the boys went up to the bar to order drinks.  Almost immediately the clouds roilled in, the sky turned grey and the rain fell in buckets.  A regular (or not so regular) rainstorm is predicted within days of when it starts(or doesn't as I've discovered) in California.  Texas guarantees nothing....ever.  And you gotta grab the camera quick because it may only last seconds.
    Foood!!
The nachos that were brought out first were so good that they were gone before I finished my second chip!  Plenty of sour cream and guac.  She had held off on the salsa because the chef was making fresh but as soon as she brought it out there was nothing left to dip into it.
Noah ordered a Black Angus burger, Barbara ordered the Shephards pie which looked so good that I want to go back and order it for myself, Scott ordered the turkey club(typical!) and Neal and I ordered the pork chops, sausage and cabbage.  It was really good.  I wasn't expecting to taste a hint of cajun in it but it really did work.  Neal complained that the rice was a bit crunchy but I thought it worked for the dish.  Scott finished his sammich and had no complaints.
