This little cafe specializes in Arcadian (Cajun) fare. Don't let the dive-y appearance fool you. Those are fresh flowers on each table! The muffaletta sandwich has layers of flavor,Served on burger bun. They have the cuisine down pat. Friendly, attentive wait staff.

I heard of this Restaurant a few weeks back from a friend and have been looking forward to eating there for a different local fare.  I approached the building not knowing what to expect. The front window was marked with calligraphy letting us know that we had arrived at the proper location. Anticipating a big bright dinning area full of customers. What I found was a small cozy cafe with nice brightly colored and staff that was in and out of the kitchen as fast as customers were sitting down and getting up to check out. That sounds kind of bad, but you have to understand that this is a community of about 2300 people.

Ate here on the Friday the 9th of March - It was Seafood Friday: I had the best Jambalaya, Shrimp, Frog Legs, Catfish, Fries, Salad (ran out of slaw on my friend's order), tomato relish, with obvious sauces and drink. I have not been a catfish eater in 30 years {not that I haven't tried, but after Ocean Trout and Mai Mai, Fresh Tuna Stakes, Salmon and Grouper, the fishy flavor of catfish normally would gag me.} I reluctantly tried this crusted fried catfish - it didn't have the gamy fishy flavor that I have come to associate with Catfish. I will eat David's Catfish anytime. Apparently, we were the last for the day to finishing our meal, David Angelo the Chef/Owner came out and visited with us as I complemented him on the catfish, jambalaya and the so tender frog legs and the tomato sweet relish. He is native of Louisiana and grew up cooking the Cajun Fare. I would recommend this to anyone traveling north or south on I-35 that is looking for a good Catfish meal. You will have to drive into town so it will take you about 5 miles off the interstate, but it is easy access back and forth.
