The classic titling of "moms" and "pops" comes to mind when describing the Corner Cup Restaurant. Scene: cheesy festive tablecloths, Americana decor, greasy spoon options like hashbrowns and gravy, all of your hometown neighbors filling the booths and prices that are beautifully affordable for someone who has become accustomed to city prices.
Our decision to stroll into Corner Cup in this one-horse town was heavily dependent on our need, not want, for greasy hangover food. Corner Cup was just the establishment - from egg sandwiches on English muffins to the "breakfast bowl" with hash browns, gravy, sausage, egg and my own little personal addition of tomatoes and hot sauce. Bam! And we're alive again! Well, maybe not that fast but...
My biggest complaint was how long it took for the food to be delivered to the table and that it was not planned very well on the timing end. With eight people eating, there were four different delivery times. By the time the last person received their food, the first were already finished eating.
I know that I will be back for the breakfast bowl and another morning saved by Corner Cup. However, next time I'll be certain not to go in when I'm crazy-hungry and need the food NOW.
