This is my favorite summer watering hole but tragically the owner/bartender Rusty Coleman died suddenly last year.  This review is in honor of him.   He made the bar friendly to each and every one that walked thru the door.   I don't ever remember any sawdust on the floor, but the dollar bills were on the ceiling but they were sold off by his son, the new owner.

Rusty made great peach daiquiris and his G and T's were nice, but light on the lime. And he always had a good word for all.

This bar was mentioned in the autobiography of Bob Roll, the bicyclist and TV commentator in his book, Bobke II, when they rolled into town one nite.

    Coat check?   Yeah right.

You know, it's a little dingy, a little funky, but what did you expect from the only bar in town of 250 in the middle of nowhere?
It's got pool and horseshoes and goat balls out back.
And one dollar bills all over the walls.
    I'm in.

not that we had much of a choice, but while on a film shoot up in etna, the crew all let loose at corrigans a couple of times. Best part ever: (slightly long story) so on a tuesday at around 11am I went to the police station to ask them about some local stuff. They were closed. As in, no one's home, had a late night, decided to open a bit later today closed. The police station! I went next door to city hall and they looked at me like some crazy city slicker when I asked why the police were closed on a tuesday at 11. Fast forward a few days, the camera guy and I are driving from our shooting location to corrigans to meet up with everyone else, and the entire force pulls us over- yup, all two of them. I had a tai light out. It took me about 20 minutes to talk them out of giving me a ticket, and I stupidly told them I was heading home. We park in front of a friend's house and walk to corrigans. Lo and behold, 15 minutes later, in walk the cops! They'd heard the film crew was heading over to corrigans and wanted to hang out! I went over, gave one of them a hug, and shot the shit. Then I danced the two step to some old country with a local and drank some keystone lite, a favorite in etna. If you are ever in this tiny, beautiful, idyllic town, get to corrigans before 10 because the owner will close it for want of customers, but if you happen to be there on a rowdy night, be ready for every cowboy/farmer stereotype to come true and make it the most memorable night ever.
