Looks like a shack from the outside and is basic inside with a small horse shoe Buffett.
Quality over quantity.
The food is good - the coleslaw and catfish were tasty while as other review has said the corn is drenched in butter. Overall a pleasant experience and walked away fuller and a good Mississippi experience for tourists.
A little rinky-dink, weekend place located between Jackson, MS and Memphis, Country Catfish is one of those road-side stops that you just can't miss if you're making the long journey up from or down to New Orleans on I-55.
Note: Â This place is only open 3 days a week, for 5 hours a day. Â It's either open Thursday-Friday-Saturday or Friday-Saturday-Sunday starting at about 3 o'clock (if you start your trip over the weekend you should be fine). Â The restaurant is straight up, complete with a Confederate rebel flag right when you walk in the door. Â This is Mississippi after all folks... expect a unique dining experience alongside people who can eat triple what you put on your plate!
With a full-service buffet, it's essential to try everything they have. Â The onion rings are out of this world, while the corn on the cob is literally swimming in a giant vat of butter... you have to dig deep to get the best ear! Â Most importantly, this place serves some of the tastiest catfish I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Â It's absolutely delicious.
A word of caution: Â If you're making a long drive alone, don't eat too much! Â You may fall asleep at the wheel after this meal!
