It's a dive bar so be prepared. Two pool tables, old jukebox that plays 45's and an electric dart game. Oh, and a karaoke machine. (Mixed feelings about that one! HaHa) Good drinks. Good bartenders. Good crowd of people that we enjoyed meeting and having some laughs with. Will stop in again to say hi to Candice.
Also, there's a taco truck parked just a few steps away from the bar entrance with tasty food that you can take back to the bar with you.
If you want hepatitis B then Country Girl is the bar for you! I'm surprised this shack is still up and running. I can see how this is a nice little stop for truckers who are passing through but for one who lives in the area? Definitely not a place to go to. If you live here in truck stop city, you're better off going down the street to 7-11 and getting a pack of beer there instead of coming to this disease infected hut.
Move along now, nothing to see here.
You owe it to yourself to stop here before you go over the Grapevine. Â It's the dive bar that you wish your local dive bar was like. Â Post up another dollar bill on the wall and write your name on it with a Sharpie. Â The drinks are stiff and cheap. Â Sing karaoke with the bartender, Lindsay, and karaoke chick, Whitney. Â No one sings well, and I'm no exception. Â The girls that work there are hot and rude and crude. Â I love it. Â Play pool, darts, or dance the watoozie.
Overheard at the Country Girl Saloon:
"I've got the best vagina in the world."
"Screw you, Linda."
"I just blew a flip flop."
"Shake that ass, Swabbie."
This place is literally a shack, but it's fun. It's exactly what you would expect at a truck stop.
One dollar bills adorn the walls and ceilings inside. It's fun to go through them and read what the previous owners wrote.
The drinks are fairly priced, probably because they don't receive a lot of heavy traffic. But they're still in business after all these years so they must be doing something right.
It's definitely low key and a place to just relax and have a beer or two. Chat it up with some of the truck drivers passing through -- they have the best stories.
