My dog liked the butter biscuits the best. He says, "The brown rice pilaf was slightly brown, but i don't care because dogs are colorblind. Mixed with the grilled chicken, the rice was so tasty! I heard that the beef stew was delicious, but my owner didn't let me eat all of her food too. I tried the cornbread muffins, not my favorite, but that's where my owner and I differ. Woof!"

We stopped here last Saturday for lunch on a road trip from North Carolina. Â My sister and her family was traveling in a separate vehicle and were about 5 to 10 miles behind us when we arrived around 1:30. Â We asked the hostess for a table for 7 so our family could be seated. Â She asked, "Is the ENTIRE party here?" When I said no, she replied rather curtly, "We will NOT seat you until your ENTIRE party are all here." Â Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the rational behind this policy and I fully support it. Â However she seemed to go out of her way to lay down the law and was needlessly impolite about it. Also, the restaurant was only about 60% occupied at the time so there was no chance we would tie-up a table at the expense of another guest. Â Would you treat a guest in your home that way, lady? Â If so I don't want to hang at your house.
Moving on, our waitress was efficient and attentive, she gets 5 stars. Â Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and we were back on the road in a reasonable amount of time. I'm not necessarily a Cracker Barrel fan, but with decent food at a good value, I could be persuaded to come more often. Â I just hope they move the hostess Nazi into a nice position in the kitchen where she can be as over zealous as she wants.
How many times does a person need to ask for a napkin? What ever it is apparently I didn't ask enough. Â I never did get it. Â This particular cracker barrel gave hardy portions. Â The food was better than most CB's. Â I would definitely come back again, I'd make sure I got a different waitress. Â Food - 4 stars; service - 2....average 3
