My wife and I came out to the Shoshone area for the day from Vegas to do some Geocaching. Â We found this place around lunch time so decided to give it a shot....not that there was any competition around. LOL Â A pretty cool place though that fits well with the mining history of the town. Â Great historical story of the founder and area on the menu. Â
They had a decent lunch crowd that spilled over from the diner side to the saloon side of the place but there was only one waitress to take orders and serve everyone in the whole place. Â Because of that, service was a bit slow but very understandable. Â She did a great job to make the best of it and was friendly and efficient. Â The food was very good and plentiful. Â
Looks like they have stage area for shows outside in the nicer weather but since it was only 33F outside when we were there, not much going on out there in January.
If you're in the area and not it a hutty, I definitely recommend making the stop and having a bite here. Â Check out Dublin Gultch across the street too when you're done....it's a centuty old abandoned mining village with caves carved out of the rock-like volcanic ash that is dominant in the area. Â Lots of cool geocaches over there too with great views!
