Three visits later and I'm still stunned at how good this restaurant is.
Not that I doubt the owners or chef's capacity, just that its such an unexpected experience in such an unexpected place.
Resort town famous for typical northern fare - fish frys, good burgers, ice cream every day, etc.
None of that here. Instead, charcuterie and interesting flatbreads to begin, followed by some very well executed mains - including the best fish dish in recent memory - a filet of walleye perfectly cooked with a crisp skin set atop a bowl of clams, chorizo, white beans, chard and fried leeks in a broth worthy of a lift to the mouth to slurp the last few drops down.
The flight program and the wine selection are focused and smart - as I would expect they would be. But, its the food that really allows this place to shine.
Looking forward to a return.
