Went to visit some friends and took them to dinner here last weekend. Â Fish fry was great. Â The place was pretty busy but our wait time was minimal and was nice to have a little extra time to chat with old friends anyway. Â I know I can always count on my IMS broker to find me something on trade wherever my travels take me. Â Please head out and see for yourself. Â You will not be disappointed!
Review Source:You can't go wrong with this place! Started off with the pineapple avacado salsa - great flavors! We had the chorizo pizza and the pesto pizza - very good! I loved the chorizo even more. The owner Chris knows his beers and even gave samples. He came off a little cold at first, but really showed his personality when talking about the history of the bar and beers. Definitely will be back!
Review Source:We enjoyed fried bluegill last night and it was delicious! Â Crunchy on the outside and moist and tender inside. Â We've been here many times and always enjoy the Friday fish fry, whether it's walleye, perch, cod or even jumbo shrimp. Â We also had delicious clam chowder last night which was creamy and full of clam pieces, and the French onion soup which was piping hot and smothered in cheese. Â When we've been here during the week, we often get the pizza which is terrific. Â My husband grew up in Chicago and he says it's as good as any he's had back home. There's a lot of variety in the appetizers and sandwiches and we've enjoyed everything we've tried so far (recently had the crostini, maple bacon panini and grilled salmon sandwich). Â Service is very friendly. Â We're in Waterford almost every week and we always stop by The Cruise!
Review Source:Why not go here for Friday fish fry. It is within walking distance from my moms place. Â A little expensive at $15 and the sides come in a prepared containers, so unprofessional. The fish was good but I was not impressed with the premade sides in to-go containers. I can get all you can eat for this price with my sides fresh on the plate.
The have live music on some nights, which is really cool. Â The owner is not very friendly but the ambiance is really cool.
I have been going to The Cruise since before the food was gourmet and it was a VFW post. The new building allowed for a greater bar, food and atmosphere. Let's start with the bar. Weekly tasting of microbreweries is awesome. Great cooler selection.
Food - if you are a goat cheese fan, this should be your new haven. I love it and I can get it on almost everything here. They also have burgers, sandwiches, good appetizers and amazing pizzas. There take-out pizza is insane. While sitting and eating a meal, I counted 12 people picking up pizzas one night!
Atmosphere - there are TVs all over, video games, cards at each table and live entertainment on the weekends - be it a band or karoake -- The Cruise is rocking.
Definitely worth the drive to come to this little hideaway off of Tichigan Lake!
Oh yeah and they even have a hall to rent out for a small gathering!
Went their for Friday fish fry. They have lake perch among other things. At first it seemed expensive at $15 but then read menu to find u get 6 pieces. That's enough to share. So my sister & I split the fish fry and ordered an extra side (house salad). Â She ate the huge salad & I had the sweet potato fries. They were among the best I've had. Perch was superb!! Â Moist and flavorful. Beer batter was crisp and lightly seasoned. My sister even commented that the tartar sauce was good. I just used lemon that came with the meal along with half rye bread and sweet sour cole slaw. I'd go back.

This last year they changed their menu to a much smaller selection. But I have to say after trying most of the things on the new menu - everything is done well. I take the kids there for sweet potato fries... these aren't the skinny soggy no-taste kind that you get everywhere else - they really know how to make them awesome! And the cucumber dipping sauce is to die for. They do need to give more sauce though!
I've been there for the fish fry - the place is usually packed but waiting time isn't bad... I love the grouper when they have it - some of the best fried fish around. And I'm always looking for a good fish fry you know. The kids love the pizza, and if you are into proving how much you can eat ask them about their pizza challenge - I'm a wimp and would never even try it.
The building is new and very open. There is live music every week and it's a nice place to go for date night or to get out with the kids. Give it a try and say hi to Linda and Chris when you visit - very friendly people for sure!
