We're on vacation from L.A. and our cousins wanted to have one night out away from the kids and the cabin. Â After reading reviews on Yelp I chose this place and I'm glad I did because of one thing- Neesee, the awesome singer who entertains 5 nights a week. Â She has a great voice and will play requests, and the place turned into a piano bar/sing along kind of a night. Â The food was all fine to good, the desserts were good, and all the staff went out of their way to be friendly and cool. Â The restaurant is built over the creek and has floor-to-ceiling windows, so it must be nice to be there during the day as well.
Review Source:Nice location away from the downtown strip. Â Nice service, friendly. Â Trout was a bit dry and not seasoned particularly well. Â The garlic rolls were excellent, and the sauteed veggies (squash, zucchini, red peppers, broccoli) were perfectly cooked. Â The blue cheese dressing tasted homemade and the sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside - just right. Â Â Owner was very welcoming.
Casual. Â One the nicer features was a pianist/singer which was an enjoyable accompaniment to our dinner, and we sat riverside. Â The singer was originally from New Orleans, was an accomplished musician and offered a varied repertoire. Â Much nicer than the food offered downtown along the strip.
As usual, my disappointment is because my wife got the grilled trout which was better than my fried trout - both were really good- that grilled trout was amazing! Â The rolls in butter and garlic was awesome. Â The freshly made salad dressings (my blue cheese) were really good. Â The fries were also well above average. Â The wait staff was great. Â The singer was a little loud inside so we sat outside on the deck and it was a very nice evening. Â This is the best place that I have found as a visitor to Gatlinburg.
Review Source:Went here on a whim since we were looking for a place we haven't eaten at before, and we've eaten at most place in Gatlinburg. Â What a refreshing surprise. We realized we had eaten here years ago when it was Teague Mill (not good at all) but these are new owners (July 2012) and they are headed in the right direction if they can get the support of locals and tourists. They have improved the interior from what I remember it was like. Â Excellent menu selections, reasonable prices, live music, good views of the creek, and friendly service, not to mention owners that really express their appreciation for you coming in. Nicely stocked bar (we don't drink) and homemade desserts that were outstanding. Â We'll definitely return next time. Â It's well worth driving a few miles out of town.
Review Source:Stayed in Gatlinburg for ten days and on the 8th day we were doing the arts and craft loop. Â We were all very hungry and decided to eat an early dinner before returning to our wonderful cabin. Â BUT, we didn't want to go into the main part of town and wait for an hour to be seated. Â As we were driving we noticed Crystelle Creek's sign and decided to try it. Â Walked in and there was no one there, but we didn't care as we wanted to eat quickly. Â We were seated quickly, our drinks were brought out quickly, and the food that we all ordered was incredibly delicious. Â I agree with the other Yelper, if I lived here I would eat here all the time. Â Great food, good prices, and except for the decor - which I don't care about - it's a wonderful place.
Review Source:This place is very, very good! Â It is a shame it doesn't get more recognition because it has a great/extensive menu and a fun atmosphere. Â it is off the beaten path a little bit since it is about 6 miles outside of the main downtown area in Gatlinburg...however, we found it to be peaceful and a nice change from the overcrowded restaurants in town. Â Don't get me wrong though, this place was hopping! Â They had live music and a vibrant bar scene or if you preferred the "quiet side" they offered you a whole separate part of the restaurant that was a little less noisy. Â We opted for the less crowded side so we could enjoy some conversation....we were seated immediately. Â
The servers were friendly, the owner was also awesome. Â He even gave my friend and I a long stem rose half way through our dinner. Â It was very sweet. Â Between the four of us we ordered a couple appetizers (cheese dip, cheese sticks), salads, trout, burger, chicken, and desserts. Â They had a feta cheese dip on the menu but they were OUT when we were there. Â I hate we missed out because we heard it was awesome. Â The portions were perfect and every entree came with a salad. Â Some things weren't perfect but overall our experience was so positive that it didn't matter. Â The quality of food overall is superb and they are reasonably priced.
We ended up coming here because it was part of the groupon deal we bought but I would return for sure. Â Again, it was nice to get away from the super touristy area and enjoy a good home cooked meal! Â
Go!!
I have been here twice and did something I almost never do.  I ordered the same thing twice in a row.  The  breaded trout was so awesome the first time, that I just had to have it again when I returned.  My dining partners enjoyed everything, on both occasions.  The garlic rolls were so buttery, and the appetizer menu was full of variety and fun for my mouth. (I got the impression that the chef enjoys his/her job.)  They offer a full bar and considering the location, a decent wine list.  There is a nice view of the creek in daylight.
The best thing about this restaurant is the crazy creek side building and it's all inclusive set up. The main dining area and lounge like bar is near the stage, with live music every day.  The second seating area is around the corner.  I sat in the second seating area on my second visit.  I could only occasionally hear the music.  I even got up to make sure that it was even playing.  I like that there is a quieter area to dine with  companions whom are hard of hearing, have sensitive hearing aides, or are combat veterans whom have already heard enough loud noises for a life time.  Perfect!  It looks like they have added an outdoor heated sports patio/bar. Â
This is a great bar to hang out in if you want to relax with an adult beverage, and listen to live music, while avoiding Karaoke row.
*The bathroom is around the corner from the second dining room. Â Due to the hilly terrain, there is a long ramp up to the restaurant.
