Technically named 'Cup & Saucer,' this hidden find rockets the 'Savory' ahead of the sweet. 'Shoppe' is no where in the picture!

Fueled by the culinary expertise of an innovative and classically-trained chef/owner (Seth Lintelman) this small town gem deserves to be sought out by all food lovers!

Open for breakfast and lunch currently...but I (for one) cannot wait for the inevitable 'spreading of wings' in subsequent menu explorations and additional food and beverage offerings.

Home-made is the order of the day (each and every day!) From house made pickles to Tomato Jam for the sandwiches, to OUTSTANDING soups, break-through sandwiches and salads--to even more outstanding desserts made on-premise each and every morning, the work coming out of this kitchen shows detailed creative presentations with every dish served.

Today's soup was carrot-ginger. It supplied spoon after spoonful of airy goodness. It was light while creamy, and packed with flavor. The source I learned, were freshly dug carrots from the chef's secret patches of vegetables, herbs and berries. It simply can't get fresher! In fact, they were pulled from the earth the night before our preparation and serving.

As of this writing (Tomato season) the tomatoes are almost exclusively from the Chef's expansive garden of Heritage Varieties...far different from city-Roma's! And a real connection with America's culinary past.

The 'Piggly-Wiggley' sandwich is YELP worthy! (So too is the local patron favorite, the 'Beef-Commercial.' Which sells out each time offered as a special!

'Piggly-Wiggly' is made of fresh locally sourced, perfectly seasoned, chopped pork patty (from within the premier pork-producing area of Minnesota) is coupled with house cured pickle, american cheese, and house made secret tomato jam (fresh made ketsup).

On the Piggly Wiggley  is also is an item patrons frequently bribe the owners to sell 'to-go' all by itself--the 'Bacon-Onion-Jam'...EXCEPTIONAL! Again, house-made by the Chef...from his imagination!

The co-owner, Elizabeth (business-partner; marketer; baker [source of the pies and cakes!]; shining face of the 'front of the house' and affable greeter, is also the wife of  the chef, and mother to their young 'Chef-in-training.'

The ambiance is slightly upscale small-town, but the food ranks up there with the 'hidden gems' in most other larger cities. Patrons all enjoy their meals and conversations.

Although new to the area--and this business--they have attracted visitors who sought them out from areas as distant as Australia and Europe (France specifically) who are on cross-America travels.

    Definitely worth a visit.

I with-held one star simply  because I'm waiting on dinner service to be introduced to see what intrique that might offer!

Then it truly will be "Woohoo...as good as it gets." And, in a small town in south-central Minnesota--who'd have thought?? Seth & Elizabeth, that's who!
